REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 27, 1987 <br />informed those present that the project entails the realignment <br />of the Hickory/Edison intersection, storm sewer installation and <br />signalization. Mr. Leszczynski further indicated that it is <br />anticipated that the State of Indiana will have a bid "letting" <br />for this portion of the project in February of 1988. <br />It was noted that the Certification indicates and certifies that <br />the requirements of Title III, Public Law 91-646 Uniform <br />Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act, <br />January 2, 1971, 84 Stat, 1894 U.S. Congress and 49 CFR Part 25 <br />dated March 5, 1985 have been compiled with. Also, it certifies <br />that the right-of-way for the project has been acquired and is <br />clear for the letting of a construction contract. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by <br />Mrs. DeClercq and carried, a Right -of -Way Certification regarding <br />the Hickory/Logan Widening Project was approved and will be <br />forwarded to Mr. John W. Brossart, Chief, Division of Land <br />Acquisition, Indiana Department of Highways, Indiana State Office <br />Building, 100 North Senate Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana. <br />APPROVE CONTRACT - INDIANA MICHIGAN POWER COMPANY (MUNICIPAL <br />SERVICES FACILITY) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. W. C. Harpenau, Power Engineer, <br />Indiana Michigan Power Company, One Michiana Square, 100 East <br />Wayne Street, South Bend, Indiana, has advised that I&M has <br />changed its name and therefore a new Tariff Contract must be <br />executed at this time for electric services at the Municipal <br />Services Facility at 700 West Sample Street, South Bend, <br />Indiana. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. <br />Leszczynski and carried, the Contract was approved and executed. <br />ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 32-1987 - DECLARING AUTOMOBILES AND <br />EQUIPMENT OBSOLETE (POLICE DEPARTMENT) <br />Police Department Services Division Chief Ronald Marciniak <br />advised the Board that the Department has eleven (11) vehicles <br />which are no longer fit for service in the police fleet. Also, <br />as the Department is going to a new style of light bars, the <br />Department has phased the current light bars out of service and <br />now has twenty (20) light bars that are no longer needed by the <br />Department. Therefore, the Department is recommending that the <br />vehicles and the light bars be declared obsolete at this time. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the following Resolution No. 32-1987 was adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 32-1987 <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public <br />Works that the following Police Department vehicles and <br />equipment are no longer suitable for the purpose for which they <br />were intended and no longer needed by the City of South Bend: <br />MECH.
