�7 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 15, 1987 <br />the Sinai Synagogue, located at 1102 East LaSalle Avenue on <br />September 23, 24, & 25, 1987 and October 2 & 3, 1987 as High Holy <br />Days will be celebrated at the synagogue during this time. Upon <br />a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the above request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for <br />review and recommendation. <br />APPROVE PICK-UP/DROP-OFF SPACE IN FRONT OF 307 SOUTH MAIN STREET <br />(INDIANA BELL TELEPHONE) - SEPTEMBER 17. 1987 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />and the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed the <br />above referred to request submitted to the Board on September 8, <br />1987 and recommend approval. Therefore, upon a motion made by <br />Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the <br />recommendation was accepted and the request approved. <br />APPROVE PARKING ON WEST MADISON STREET AND NORTH LAFAYETTE <br />BOULEVARD FOR HOLY DAY SERVICES FOR TEMPLE BETH-EL - SEPTEMBER <br />23-24 AND OCTOBER 2-3, 1987 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />and the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed the <br />above referred to request submitted to the Board on September 8, <br />1987 and recommend approval. Therefore, upon a motion made by <br />Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the <br />recommendation was accepted and the request approved. <br />FILING OF HUMANE SOCIETY REPORT - AUGUST <br />Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq, Director, Department of Code <br />Enforcement, advised that she continues to work with the Humane <br />Society to develop a more comprehensive report which will <br />indicate what types of services are being provided pursuant to <br />the Humane Society Contract for animal control services. Mrs. <br />DeClercq stated that she and Assistant City Attorney Marva J. <br />Leonard -Dent have devised a simplified form which was submitted <br />to the Humane Society but they have not yet received a response. <br />Mrs. DeClercq stated that she is hopeful that the October monthly <br />report will more clearly reflect the services provided pursuant <br />to the Contract. She sited that in the instance of animals <br />counted in the South Bend category, residents who live in South <br />Bend and take an animal to the shelter are counted as being <br />served. <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the Humane Society of St. Joseph County, IN, Inc. <br />monthly report of animals handled for the month of August was <br />accepted and filed. <br />APPROVE CONTRACTOR'S BOND <br />Mr. Melvin Humphrey, Engineering Department, recommended that the <br />Contractor's Bond for DuJardin Enterprises be approved <br />retroactive to September 11, 1987. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above <br />Contractor's Bond was approved. <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT <br />A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a <br />total of seventy-seven (77) properties cleaned from September 7, <br />1987 thru September 11, 1987, was submitted. Upon a motion made <br />by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the <br />report as submitted was filed. <br />
