<br />were opened by the Board on August 4, 1987. Upon a motion made
<br />by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the
<br />recommendation was accepted and the bid awarded, subject to the
<br />filing of the appropriate Insurance, Performance Bond and Labor
<br />and Materials Payment Bond.
<br />REQUEST TO CONDUCT STREET SERVICES - SEPTEMBER 1-13, 1987 -
<br />REFERRED
<br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Dora Lottie, 2024 Pershing Street,
<br />South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to conduct street
<br />services the first two (2) weeks in September on Washington
<br />Street between Walnut and Birdsell from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq
<br />and carried, the above request was referred to the appropriate
<br />City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST OF POLICE DEPARTMENT TO CONDUCT BICYCLE AND
<br />UNCLAIMED PROPERTY AUCTION - OCTOBER 3, 1987
<br />Police Chief Charles T. Hurley and Services Division Chief Ronald
<br />Marciniak, requested permission to dispose of unclaimed bicycles
<br />and other unclaimed property at a public auction to be held on
<br />Saturday, October 3, 1987 from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. or
<br />until all items are sold. Chiefs Hurley and Marciniak advised
<br />that a partial list of items to be sold include bicycles, mopeds,
<br />tools, clothing, stereo's, radios and miscellaneous items. They
<br />also noted that receipts received from the sale of these items
<br />will be forwarded to the proper accounts of the City. Upon a
<br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and
<br />carried, the request was approved.
<br />REQUEST TO CONDUCT NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY - 1400 BLOCK OF WALL
<br />STREET - SEPTEMBER 12 1987 - REFERRED
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Terry L. Dickerson, 1321 Wall
<br />Street, South Bend, Indiana, advised that a neighborhood block
<br />party has been scheduled for the 1400 block of Wall Street on
<br />Saturday, September 12, 1987 from 2:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight.
<br />Therefore, Mr. Dickerson requested that Wall Street, between
<br />Twyckenham and Chester Street, be closed for this event. Upon a
<br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and
<br />carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and
<br />Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for review
<br />and recommendation.

<br />NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSING SERVICES TO CON]
<br />NHS 10K BIKE
<br />Ms. Anne Mannix, Executive Director, Neighborhood Housing
<br />Services, 914 L.W.W., South Bend, Indiana, requested permission
<br />to conduct the NHS 10K Bide Ride through the near northwest and
<br />northeast neighborhoods on Saturday, October 10, 1987, from 9:00
<br />a.m. to 12:00 noon with a rain date of Sunday, October 11, 1987
<br />from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Ms. Mannix advised that the ride will
<br />begin and end in Leeper Park and it is anticipated that
<br />approximately 100-120 will participate in this event. It was
<br />noted that Ms. Mannix submitted with the request three (3) routes
<br />to be utilized for this event. Upon a motion made by Mr.
<br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the request
<br />was referred to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for
<br />review and recommendation.

<br />In a letter to the Board, Mrs. Freida Herzer, 3029 Longley
<br />Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, advised the Board that she lives
<br />near Bendix and has difficulty parking in front of her home. As
