<br />South Gertrude Street, South Bend, Indiana. It was noted that
<br />all vehicles have been stored more than fifteen (15) days,
<br />identification checkshad been run for auto theft and the owners
<br />and lienholders notified. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq,
<br />seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above request was approved
<br />and a date of July 14, 1987 was established for the receiving and
<br />opening of sealed bids.
<br />REQUEST TO CLOSE 100 BLOCK EAST TASHER FOR NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK
<br />PARTY - JULY 11, 1987 - REFERRED
<br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Cindy Berg, 128 East Tasher, South
<br />Bend, Indiana, advised that the residents of the 100 block of
<br />East Tasher are planning a block party on July 11, 1987 from 3:00
<br />p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and would like the 100 block of East Tasher,
<br />between Michigan and Jennings Streets, closed for the event.
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq
<br />and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic
<br />and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for
<br />review and recommendation.
<br />REQUEST TO CLOSE 2400 BLOCK OF HOLLYWOOD PLACE FOR NEIGHBORHOOD
<br />BLOCK PARTY - JULY 25, 1987 - REFERRED
<br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Edna Kosik, 2409 Hollywood Place,
<br />South Bend, Indiana, stated that the residents of Hollywood Place
<br />would like Hollywood from Edgewood to Eastbrook closed for a
<br />neighborhood block party on July 25, 1987 from 3:00,p.m. to
<br />9:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr.
<br />Vance and- carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of
<br />Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division
<br />for review and recommendation.
<br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AT 1307, 1309 & 1311 WEST
<br />WASHINGTON STREET - REFERRED
<br />Mr. James Husband, Hoosier Lawn and Garden, Inc., 1020 Diamond
<br />Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, advised that Hoosier Lawn and
<br />Garden, Inc. would like to purchase the above referred to
<br />City -owned lots for use as off-street parking. Mr. Husband
<br />further stated that he plans to appear before the Board of Zoning
<br />Appeals to have this property rezoned.
<br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Vance and
<br />carried, the above request was referred to the appropriate City
<br />departments and bureaus for review and recommendation.
<br />DENY REQUEST TO CLOSE ALLEY BEHIND 201 NORTH ILLINOIS FOR FAMILY
<br />REUNION - JULY 4. 1987
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Lillie M. Pryor, 201 North Illinois
<br />Street, South Bend, Indiana, requested that the alley behind her
<br />residence at 201 North Illinois be closed on July 4, 1987, from
<br />12:00 noon until 10:00 p.m. for a family reunion. Mr.
<br />Leszczynski further advised that the Bureau of Traffic and
<br />Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed
<br />this request and recommend that this request be denied as the
<br />alley is too narrow and would not allow for a ten (10) foot fire
<br />lane as required. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski,
<br />seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the recommendation was
<br />accepted and the request denied.

<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Edward Baer, 1733 Winston Drive,
<br />South Bend, Indiana, requested that the 1700 block of Winston
<br />Drive, between Rose Street and Cabot Drive, be closed between
<br />12:00 noon and 7:00 p.m. on July 4, 1987 for a neighborhood block
