Barcome, has submitted a letter to the Board adding his <br />support to the efforts of the residents referred to above. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by <br />Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the Petition was referred to the <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for review. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO PROVIDE FLAT RATE PARKING AT MUNICIPA <br />nTTPTNa TUP PTT-MTTr VP4ZTTveT - TTTTv i.-r, 100-7 <br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Ms. Mikki Dobski, Director, Office <br />of Community Affairs, requested permission to provide parking at <br />both municipal garages for a flat rate of $1.00 per day on <br />Saturday and Sunday, July 4-5, 1987 during the Ethnic Festival. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the request as submitted was approved. <br />REQUEST TO CLOSE 1800 BLOCK OF WILBER STREET FOR NEIGHBORHOOD <br />BLOCK PARTY - JULY 4, 1987 - REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Richard L. Farrell, Jr., 1842 <br />Wilber, South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to close the <br />1800 block of Wilber Street on July 4, 1987 from 2:00 p.m. until <br />7:00 p.m. for a neighborhood block party. Upon a motion made by <br />Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the <br />request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and <br />the Police Department Traffic Division for review and <br />recommendation. <br />REQUEST TO CLOSE ALTGELD STREET BETWEEN LEER AND CLYDE FOR <br />NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY - JULY 4, 1987 - REFERRED <br />Ms. Janice McCurdee, 1307 East Altgeld Street, South Bend, <br />Indiana, advised that the residents of the 1300 block of East <br />Altgeld Street would like Altgeld Street, between Leer and Clyde <br />Streets, closed on July 4, 1987 between the hours of 2:00 p.m. to <br />12:00 midnight for a neighborhood block party. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Declercq and carried, <br />the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />and the Police Department Traffic Division for review and <br />recommendation. <br />REQUEST OF SPECIAL OLYMPICS TO STAGE FIREWORKS DISPLAY - AUGUST <br />1, 1987 - REFERRED <br />Ms. Mikki Dobski, Director, Office of Community Affairs, on <br />behalf of ISSOC, requested permission to stage a fireworks <br />display for the entire community on Saturday, August 1, 1987 at <br />8:45 p.m. along the river, near Seitz Park. <br />Ms. Dobski additionally requested assistance from the Police <br />Department regarding traffic controls and help in determining the <br />appropriate viewing areas for the public. <br />Also, Ms. Dobski advised that Century Center will be utilized to <br />capacity on the evening of the proposed display for other Special <br />Olympics events. <br />She therefore requested that the parking garages and the City <br />lots adjacent to the Center City Associates office be made <br />available at a flat rate of $1.00 for the fireworks display and <br />free for the Special Olympics events. <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the above requests were referred to the appropriate <br />City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. <br />
