REGULAR MEETING JUNE 23. 1987 <br />F am <br />1 <br />of the event has been changed to October 18, 1987. Mr. <br />Leszczynski further advised that the appropriate City departments <br />and bureaus have reviewed this amended request and recommended <br />approval. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. <br />Leszczynski and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the <br />request approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CLOSE PARKVIEW PLACE FOR NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK <br />PARTY - JULY 4, 1987 <br />Ms. Deborah J. Barbknecht, 2122 Parkview Place, South Bend, <br />Indiana, requested that Parkview Place from 2114 to 2154 be <br />closed for a neighborhood block party on July 4, 1987 from 1:00 <br />p.m. to 12:00 midnight. Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic <br />Division have reviewed this request and recommend approval. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. <br />Leszczynski and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the <br />request approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CLOSE WAYNE STREET SOUTH FOR NEIGHBORHOOD <br />BLOCK PARTY — JUNE 27, 1987 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />and the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed the <br />above referred to request submitted to the Board on June 16, 1987 <br />and recommend approval. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. <br />Declercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the <br />recommendation was accepted and the request approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CLOSE EAST SOUTH STREET FOR NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK <br />PARTY - AUGUST 1, 1987 <br />Mr. Leszczynski informed the Board that the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting and the Police Department have reviewed the request <br />submitted to the Board on June 9, 1987 to close East South Street <br />from Sunnyside to the island where it meets Longfellow for a <br />neighborhood block party and recommends approval. It was noted <br />that the date of the block party has been changed from the <br />original date requested of June 27, 1987 to August 1, 1987 with a <br />raindate of August 2, 1987. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, <br />seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the recommendation was <br />accepted and the request approved. <br />APPROVE REQUESTS OF ST. MARY OF THE ASSUMPTION CHURCH TO CLOSE A <br />PORTION OF ASSUMPTION DRIVE ON AUGUST 16, 1987 AND AUGUST 23, <br />1987 <br />The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department <br />Traffic Division have reviewed the requests submitted to the <br />Board on June 2, 1987 to close a portion of Assumption Drive for <br />the Annual Parish Festival on August 16, 1987 and again on August <br />23, 1987 for the Annual Parish Picnic and recommend approval. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. <br />Leszczynski and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the <br />requests approved. <br />FILING OF PETITION - TRAFFIC_SIGNALIZATION/INTERSECTION OF <br />IRELAND AND YORK ROADS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of a <br />Petition which was submitted by concerned residents of the 5th <br />district regarding the signalization at the intersection of <br />Ireland and York Roads. It was noted that the Petition was <br />signed by one hundred thirty-four (134) residents who live near <br />the above referred to intersection. <br />It was further noted that the Petition form indicates that the <br />individuals who signed the Petition are residents of the City who <br />must travel through the intersection of Ireland and York Road <br />daily.
