REGULAR MEETING MAY 19, 1987 Mr. Davey and Mr. Dunbar advised that Erskine Plaza Associates is the owner of property adjacent to and abutting the subject real estate and Cressy and Everett Commercial Company, Inc. is the developer of the property for Erskine Plaza Associates. They further advised that said property is located in an area roughly bordered by Ireland, Miami and Bowen Streets, and is currently a part of a retention basin. Mr. Davey and Mr. Dunbar also stated that the assessed value of the entire 4.82 acre retention basin is $2,410.00 and the parcel of property which is the subject of this request consists of 1.14 acres, with a corresponding assessed value of $570.00. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the request was referred to the necessary City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - REMODELING OF THE COMPUTER AIDED DISPATCH ROOM AT THE CENTRAL POLICE STATION Mr. John E. Leszczynski, Director, Public Works, requested that the Board advertise for the receipt of bids for the remodeling of the Computer Aided Dispatch Room at the Central Police Station. Mr. Leszczynski stated that this project entails installation of an air conditioning system, removal of walls, and other miscellaneous remodeling. He additionally stated that the engineer's estimate for this project is approximately $60,000.00 and the project completion date is July 31, 1987. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the request was approved. APPROVE 00 BLOCK OF WEST LISTON FOR AUSTIN FAMILY REUNION - JULY 25, 1987 Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request submitted to the Board on May 5, 1987 and recommend approval. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request approved. ST TO CLOSE APPROVE REQUEST FOR DESIGNATED HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE AT 219 EAST MARION STREET The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed the above referred to request submitted to the Board on May 5, 1987 by Ms. Charlotte N. Wentland, and recommend approval. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request approved. APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY - 200 BLOCK E. ECKMAN In a letter to the Board, Ms. Sherri Miller, 209 East Eckman Street, South Bend, Indiana, advised that the residents of the 200 block of East Eckman Street would like to close Eckman Street from Carroll to St. Joseph Street on Sunday, May 24, 1987 from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. for a block party. Mr. Leszczynski advised that this request has been reviewed by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division and they recommend approval. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request approved. APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT ETHNIC - JUNE 30-JULY 5. 1987 IVAL AND RELATED ACTIVITIES Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, Police Department Traffic Division and City Attorney's office have reviewed the request submitted to the Board on April 14, 1987 to conduct the following Ethnic Festival and related activities and recommend approval: 1 1 1
