REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 12, 1987 <br />through a local fund for that purpose. Construction is a <br />cooperative effort between volunteers and home buyers. The Board <br />of Directors has set up a non-discriminitory family selection <br />process and will make sure the houses are affordable to the needy <br />and sold on the no -profit, no -interest basis. <br />Habitat of St. Joseph County has been given a house, presently <br />located at 1215 South Michigan Street with the provision that the <br />house be moved off the lot this summer. A target date of June <br />15th has been set to determine if Habitat can obtain the <br />necessary resources to move the house and rehabilitate it for a <br />low income family on the southeast side. <br />Therefore, Habitat is requesting that the lots at 606 and 608 <br />East Pennsylvania be conveyed to them because of their proximity <br />to the present location of the house resulting in a lower cost <br />for the move. <br />Mrs. Glenda Rae Hernandez, on behalf of Habitat for Humanity, was <br />present and explained the purpose of Habitat for Humanity and <br />requested favorable consideration of this request. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and <br />carried, the request was referred to the necessary City <br />departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF WEST SIDE MEMORIAL COMMITTEE TO CONDUCT ANNUAL <br />MEMORIAL DAY PARADE - MAY 25, 1987 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the necessary City departments and <br />bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request submitted to <br />the Board on May 5, 1987 and recommend approval. Therefore, upon <br />a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and <br />carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request <br />approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT ANNUAL ST. ADALBERT/CORVILLA RUN - <br />JULY 12, 1987 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />and the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed the <br />request submitted on April 7, 1987 to conduct the St.- Adalbert/ <br />Corvilla Run on July 12, 1987 and recommend approval of this <br />annual event. Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mrs. <br />DeClercq and carried, the recommendation as submitted was <br />accepted and the request approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST FOR DESIGNATED HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE - 715 <br />NORTH ST. LOUIS <br />The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department <br />Traffic Division have reviewed the above referred to request <br />submitted to the Board on March 17, 1987 and recommend approval. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and <br />carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request <br />approved. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the following five (5) traffic control devices were <br />approved: <br />1. NEW INSTALLATION, STOP SIGN - On Scotswood @ Rosemary <br />("T" Intersection). <br />2. NEW INSTALLATION, STOP SIGN - On Kennedy @ Galway <br />("T" Intersection). <br />L <br />1 <br />3. NEW INSTALLATION, STOP SIGN - On Bryan @ Crestwood <br />("T" Intersection). <br />
