JOSEPH COUNTY DEMOCRATIC CENTRAL COMMITTEE <br />TO UTILIZE PUBLIC BUILDINGS FOR VOTING PURPOSES - MAY 5, 1987 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Kenneth P. Fedder, Chairman, St. <br />Joseph County Democratic Central Committee, P.O. Box 1375, South <br />Bend, Indiana, requested permission to use the following public <br />buildings for voting purposes on Primary Election Day, May 5, <br />1987: <br />#2 Fire Station <br />#3 Fire Station <br />#5 Fire Station <br />#6 Fire Station <br />#7 Fire Station <br />#9 Fire Station <br />#10 Fire Station <br />Potawatomi Greenhouse <br />Pinhook Pavilion <br />110 E. Ireland Road <br />2105 Mishawaka Avenue <br />2801 Riverside Drive <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and <br />carried, the request as submitted was approved. <br />REQUEST OF ST. JOE VALLEY <br />;T SIDEWALK SOLICITATIONS <br />OF KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS TO <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Robert M. Wilcox, General Chairman, <br />1987 Tootsie Roll Drive, St. Joe Valley Chapter of Knights of <br />Columbus, advised that the Knights of Columbus will be conducting <br />their annual fund drive for the mentally handicapped of St. <br />Joseph County on May 7-9, 1987. Therefore, they would like <br />permission to solicit on the public sidewalks at the following <br />locations: <br />- 2904 South Michigan Street (Cira's Grocery Store) <br />- 128 South Michigan Street (Osco's) <br />- 110 South Main (Teacher's Credit Union) <br />- Washington and Michigan Streets <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the above request was referred to the Police Department <br />Traffic Division and the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for <br />review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST OF AMERICAN LEGION POST #357 TO CONDUCT POPPY DAYS - MAY <br />15 AND 16, 1987 - REFERRED <br />Mrs. Jean Bowersox, 2021 South Warren Street, South Bend, <br />Indiana, on behalf of Unit #357 of the Pulaski Post American <br />Legion, requested permission to offer poppies on City sidewalks <br />on May 15th and 16th. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the request was referred <br />to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department <br />Traffic Division for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST OF ST. JOSEPH COUNTY MEMORIAL SOCIETY FOR STREET CLOSURE <br />IN CONJUNCTION WITH MEMORIAL DAY ACTIVITIES - MAY 25 1987 - <br />REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Virginia Hanson, Secretary, St. <br />Joseph County Memorial Society, 19459 Orchard Street, South Bend, <br />Indiana, requested the closing of Washington Street between Main <br />and Lafayette Boulevard for one (1) hour on Monday, May 25, 1987, <br />at 2:00 p.m. in conjunction with Memorial Day activities to be <br />conducted in front of the Sailors and Soldiers monument on the <br />Court House lawn. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the request was referred to <br />the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department <br />Traffic Division for review and recommendation. <br />I <br />
