REGULAR MEETING APRIL 21, 1987 <br />NAME: The Boutique Exchange <br />BY: Janie Kennedy <br />ADDRESS: 529 North Niles <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING: Used clothing <br />NAME: What-Not-Shoppe <br />BY: Walter Szlanfucht <br />ADDRESS: 1414 Leer <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING: Used miscellaneous items <br />Mr. Leszczynski further advised that favorable recommendations <br />have been received from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />Department of Code Enforcement, Police Department and Fire <br />Department on the above applications. Upon a motion made by Mrs. <br />DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above license <br />applications were approved and referred to the Deputy <br />Controller's office for issuance of licenses. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF LYKOWSKI CONSTRUCTION TO MOVE A HOUSE FROM <br />1543 PERTHWAY DRIVE TO 666 WIDENER LANE <br />Mr. Jack A. Mathews, Building Commissioner, advised the Board <br />that Lykowski Construction, Inc., House Moving Engineers, 21707 <br />West Ireland Road, South Bend, Indiana, has requested permission <br />to move a house from 1543 Perthway Drive to 666 Widener Lane. <br />Mr. Mathews further advised that Lykowski Construction has <br />contacted all utility companies and their requirements have been <br />satisfied. Additionally, the City Engineer's office has approved <br />the route to be utilized for this move and the appropriate <br />Certificate of Insurance is in order and on file. <br />Therefore, Mr. Mathews recommended that the Board approve the <br />request as submitted by Lykowski Construction. <br />In response to his inquiry, Mr. Vance was advised that Lykowski <br />Construction has provided the required Certificate of Insurance <br />in the appropriate amount as required by City ordinance. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mrs. <br />DeClercq and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the <br />request approved. <br />REQUEST OF MADISON SCHOOL HOME SCHOOL ORGANIZATION TO CLOSE PARK <br />LANE FOR ICE CREAM SOCIAL - MAY 15. 1987 - REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Kathy Large, MHSO Co -Chairman, Home <br />School Organization, Madison School, 832 North Lafayette <br />Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana, advised that Madison School is <br />having its annual Ice Cream Social on Friday, May 15, 1987 from <br />5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. <br />Therefore, Ms. Large requested that Park Lane, from Lafayette to <br />Main Street be closed for the safety of the children attending <br />the Ice Cream Social. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for <br />review and recommendation. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - SALE OF <br />ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq, Director, Department of Code <br />Enforcement, requested permission to advertise for the sale of <br />approximately seventeen (17) abandoned vehicles, which are being <br />stored at Steve & Gene's Auto & Truck Salvage and Repair, 3109 <br />South Gertrude Street, South Bend, Indiana. It was noted that <br />all vehicles have been stored more than fifteen (15) days, <br />identification checks had been run for auto theft and the owners <br />and lienholders notified.
