REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 21, 1987 <br />seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above request was approved <br />and a date of May 5, 1987 was established for the receiving and <br />opening of sealed bids. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CLOSE 900 BLOCK OF NAPOLEON STREET FOR BROWNIE <br />GIRL SCOUTS BICYCLE CLINIC-- MAY 9, 1987 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />and the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed the <br />request submitted to the Board on April 14, 1987, to close <br />Napoleon Street between Eddy and Notre Dame Avenue on May 9, <br />1987. <br />It is the recommendation of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />and the Police Department Traffic Division that the request be <br />approved except that Napoleon Street be closed from Francis <br />Street to Notre Dame. Also, twelve (12) cones may be picked -up <br />by the Petitioner at the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mrs. <br />DeClercq and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the <br />request approved. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the following five (5) traffic control devices were <br />approved: <br />1. NEW INSTALLATION, STOP SIGN - On Brookfield at Dunham. <br />("T" Intersection). <br />2. NEW INSTALLATION, STOP SIGN - On Dale at Broadway. <br />("T" Intersection). <br />3. NEW INSTALLATION, STOP SIGN - On Virginia at Broadway. <br />("T" Intersection). <br />4. NEW INSTALLATION, STOP SIGN - On Pershing at Olive. <br />("T" Intersection). <br />5. NEW INSTALLATION, STOP SIGN - On St. Joseph at Vincent. <br />("T" Intersection) . <br />APPROVE CONTRACTOR'S BOND <br />Mr. Melvin Humphrey, Engineering Department, recommended that the <br />Contractor's Bond for H.G. Christman Construction Co., Inc. be <br />approved effective April 21, 1987. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above <br />Contractor's Bond was approved. <br />FILING OF HUMANE SOCIETY MONTHLY REPORTS - FEBRUARY & MARCH <br />Mrs. DeClercq reminded Board members that on March 17, 1987, she <br />requested that the February Humane Society report as submitted be <br />tabled at that time as the Department of Code Enforcement was to <br />be meeting with the Humane Society regarding a method of <br />reporting to reflect animal control services provided per the <br />terms of the Contract which the City entered into with the Humane <br />Society. <br />She stated that the City and the Humane Society will be meeting <br />one more time regarding this matter and it is anticipated that <br />they will have the report in final form soon. She therefore, <br />made a motion recommending that the February and March reports be <br />filed at this time as submitted. Mr. Vance seconded the motion <br />and the reports were filed. <br />
