n <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 14, 1987 <br />1 <br />1 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request <br />approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST FOR DESIGNATED HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE AT 2415 <br />BOND AVENUE <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />and the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed the <br />above referred to request submitted to the Board on March 24, <br />1987 and recommend approval. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. <br />Vance and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the <br />request approved. <br />APPROVE TEMPORARY STREET NAME CHANGES IN OBSERVANCE OF DYNGUS DAY <br />AND SOLIDARITY DAY - APRIL 20, 1987 <br />Mayor Roger 0. Parent requested the following street name changes <br />in observance of Dyngus Day and Solidarity Day, Monday, April 20, <br />1987: <br />- Ford Street, at Ford and Warren, to be named <br />Dyngus Drive <br />- Hill Street, from Jefferson to Corby, to be <br />named Solidarity Avenue <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the request was approved. <br />UEST TO CONDUCT ETHNIC FESTIVAL AND RELATED ACTIVITIES - JUNE <br />30-JULY 5, 1987 - REFERRED <br />Ms. Mikki Dobski, Director, Office of Community Affairs, <br />requested permission to conduct the annual Ethnic Festival and <br />related activities on July 4-5, 1987 in downtown South Bend. <br />Following is a list of the activities submitted for approval: <br />ETHNIC FESTIVAL <br />July 4-5, 1987 <br />11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. <br />Michigan Street between Washington and Western Ave. <br />ETHNIC FESTIVAL PARADE <br />July 4, 1987 <br />10:00 a.m. - 12:00 Noon <br />Lafayette and Williams Streets, from South to Washington <br />Streets. <br />BICYCLE RACE <br />July 4, 1987 <br />1:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. <br />Lafayette and Williams Streets between Washington and <br />Western. <br />FESTIVAL SET-UP <br />June 30, 1987 - July 6, 1987 <br />Michigan Street between Washington.- Western <br />FESTIVAL 5-RUN <br />July 4, 1987 <br />8:00 a.m. <br />Northside Boulevard run route. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the above request was referred to various City <br />Departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. <br />
