DeClercq, Director, Department of Code <br />Enforcement, requested permission to advertise for the sale of <br />approximately eleven (11) abandoned vehicles, which are being <br />stored at Steve & Gene's Auto & Truck Salvage and Repair, 3109 <br />South Gertrude Street, South Bend, Indiana. It was noted that <br />all vehicles have been stored more than fifteen (15) days, <br />identification checks had been run for auto theft and the owners <br />and lienholders notified. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, <br />seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above request was approved <br />and a date of April 14, 1987, was established for the receiving <br />and opening of sealed bids. <br />REQUEST OF LINCOLN SCHOOL FOR YELLOW CURB AT BUS DROP-OFF AND <br />PICK-UP AREA ON EAST SIDE OF VERNON STREET - REFERRED <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Obera McDonald, Principal of Lincoln <br />School, 1425 East Calvert Street, South Bend, Indiana, has <br />indicated that there are problems with the bus pick-up and <br />drop-off area at Lincoln School. Ms. McDonald stated that <br />students who ride the bus are picked -up and dropped -off on the <br />east side of Vernon Street. She would therefore like to have a <br />yellow line painted along the entire area. She further stated <br />that they have a problem first with the safety of the children <br />and without a visible indication for "no parking" there is no <br />indication to parents and others that this area is off limits. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by <br />Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic <br />Division for review and recommendation. <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />
