REGULAR MEETING MARCH 17, 1987 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution shall be submitted to the Common Council for its consideration and adoption of an appropriate Resolution. Parmerlee, Clerk AWARD BID - SYCAMORE/LA SALLE WALKWAY PROJECT In a letter to the Board, Mr. Michael P. Meeks, Director, Division of Engineering, recommended that the Board award the low bid of L. L. Geans & Sons, Inc., 1721 North Home Street Mishawaka, Indiana, for the above referred to project in the amount of $139,816.51 which includes the base bid and Alternate #2. Mr. Meeks additionally pointed out that a small discrepancy of $4.00 was found on the L.L. Geans bid but this change did not affect the low bid. It was noted that bids for this project were opened by the Board on March 10, 1987. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the bid awarded, subject to the filing of the appropriate Insurance, Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment Bond. APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq, Director, Department of Code Enforcement, requested permission to advertise for the sale of approximately twenty (20) abandoned vehicles, which are being stored at Steve & Gene's Auto & Truck Salvage and Repair, 3109 South Gertrude Street, South Bend, Indiana. It was noted that all vehicles have been stored more than fifteen (15) days, identification checks had been run for auto theft and the owners and lienholders notified. Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the above request was approved and a date of March 31, 1987 as established for the receiving and opening of sealed bids. ST TO CONDUCT THE 12TH ANNUAL WORLD'S LARGEST GARAGE SALE - JUNE 13, 1987 - REFERRED In a Memorandum to the Board, Ms. Denielle Baldwin, Community Affairs, requested permission to hold the 12th Annual World's Largest Garage Sale at the Colfax Parking garage on Saturday, June 13, 1987. Ms. Baldwin indicated that in addition to the standard traffic controls, crowd control and paramedic coverage is requested. Additionally, the landscaped lot south of the parking garage is requested for extra booth space, concessions and seating. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the request was referred to various City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT POLICE DEPARTMENT BICYCLE AND UNCLAIMED PROPERTY AUCTION - MAY 2, 1987 Mr. Vance advised that Police Chief Charles T. Hurley and Services Division Chief Ronald Marciniak requested permission to conduct a public auction on Saturday, May 2, 1987 from 8:30 a.m. 1
