KIM <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 17. 1987 <br />- To provide administrative and service support for the <br />Near West Side Commercial Loan Program. To assist in <br />the significant improvement of the condition of one (1) <br />commercial structure in the Chapin/Washington commercial <br />area. <br />- To work, in partnership, with the Monroe Park Development <br />Corporation to build new housing units within Monroe <br />Park. <br />The total cost of this activity shall not exceed $55,000.00. <br />LASALLE-FILLMORE NEIGHBORHOOD CENTER, INC. <br />LA SALLE PARK NEIGHBORHOOD CENTER <br />The targeted goal for this activity is to be open two hundred <br />forty (240) days for public access to the Center and the <br />services it provides. The total cost of this activity shall <br />not exceed $5,000.00. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and <br />carried, the above Contracts were approved and executed. <br />ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 5-1987 - RENEWAL OF SCRAP METAL/JUNK <br />DEALERS/TRANSFER STATION LICENSE APPLICATIONS <br />Mrs. Patricia DeClercq, Director, Department of Code Enforcement, <br />advised that the Department of Code Enforcement and the Fire <br />Department Prevention Bureau have conducted inspections of the <br />premises of Metal Resources Corporation, 3113 South Gertrude <br />Street and Boliden Metech, 445 North Sheridan, South Bend, <br />Indiana, and they have met all ordinances requirements. She <br />therefore recommended that a favorable recommendation be <br />forwarded to the Common Council for the approval of 1987 licenses <br />for these companies. Mr. Vance seconded the motion and it <br />carried and the following Resolution No. 5-1987 was adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 5-1987 <br />WHEREAS, Scrap Metal/Junk Dealers/Transfer Station license <br />applications for the year 1987 have been received by the Board of <br />Public Works; and <br />WHEREAS, inspections of the properties have been completed <br />by the Department of Code Enforcement and the Fire Prevention <br />Bureau as required by Chapter 4, Article 4, Section 4-51 of the <br />Municipal Code; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Code Enforcement and the Fire <br />Prevention Bureau have found that such premises are fit and <br />proper for the maintenance and operation of such businesses; and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 4, Article 4, Section 4-51 of the Municipal <br />Code requires adopting of a Resolution of the Board of Public <br />Works recommending the approval of the license applications. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works <br />of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that the license applications <br />for the following be recommended favorably based upon the <br />satisfactory review of the properties by the Department of Code <br />Enforcement and the Fire Prevention Bureau: <br />Boliden-Metech 445 N. Sheridan St. <br />Metal Resources Corp. 3113 S. Gertrude St. <br />
