KIM REGULAR MEETING MARCH 17. 1987 - To provide administrative and service support for the Near West Side Commercial Loan Program. To assist in the significant improvement of the condition of one (1) commercial structure in the Chapin/Washington commercial area. - To work, in partnership, with the Monroe Park Development Corporation to build new housing units within Monroe Park. The total cost of this activity shall not exceed $55,000.00. LASALLE-FILLMORE NEIGHBORHOOD CENTER, INC. LA SALLE PARK NEIGHBORHOOD CENTER The targeted goal for this activity is to be open two hundred forty (240) days for public access to the Center and the services it provides. The total cost of this activity shall not exceed $5,000.00. Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the above Contracts were approved and executed. ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 5-1987 - RENEWAL OF SCRAP METAL/JUNK DEALERS/TRANSFER STATION LICENSE APPLICATIONS Mrs. Patricia DeClercq, Director, Department of Code Enforcement, advised that the Department of Code Enforcement and the Fire Department Prevention Bureau have conducted inspections of the premises of Metal Resources Corporation, 3113 South Gertrude Street and Boliden Metech, 445 North Sheridan, South Bend, Indiana, and they have met all ordinances requirements. She therefore recommended that a favorable recommendation be forwarded to the Common Council for the approval of 1987 licenses for these companies. Mr. Vance seconded the motion and it carried and the following Resolution No. 5-1987 was adopted: RESOLUTION NO. 5-1987 WHEREAS, Scrap Metal/Junk Dealers/Transfer Station license applications for the year 1987 have been received by the Board of Public Works; and WHEREAS, inspections of the properties have been completed by the Department of Code Enforcement and the Fire Prevention Bureau as required by Chapter 4, Article 4, Section 4-51 of the Municipal Code; and WHEREAS, the Department of Code Enforcement and the Fire Prevention Bureau have found that such premises are fit and proper for the maintenance and operation of such businesses; and WHEREAS, Chapter 4, Article 4, Section 4-51 of the Municipal Code requires adopting of a Resolution of the Board of Public Works recommending the approval of the license applications. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that the license applications for the following be recommended favorably based upon the satisfactory review of the properties by the Department of Code Enforcement and the Fire Prevention Bureau: Boliden-Metech 445 N. Sheridan St. Metal Resources Corp. 3113 S. Gertrude St.
