�31 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 3, 1987 <br />warning devices at the Grand Trunk Western Railroad grade <br />crossing at 500 South Ironwood. Mr. Leszczynski advised that the <br />City is responsible for ten per cent (10%) of the cost of these <br />improvements. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by <br />Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the Agreements were approved and <br />executed. <br />APPROVE UTILITY AGREEMENTS - INDIANA & MICHIGAN ELECTRIC COMPANY <br />(LOGAN STREET WIDENING PROJECT) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Indiana & Michigan Electric Company <br />has submitted Utility Agreements as they relate to the Logan <br />Street widening project. The Agreements indicate that I&M agrees <br />that utility facilities located on Logan Street from south of the <br />Grand Trunk Railroad to McKinley Highway and located on Hickory <br />Road from McKinley Highway to north of Edison Road, are hereby <br />granted permission to be located within the highway right-of- <br />way. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. <br />Vance and carried, the above referred to Utility Agreements were <br />approved and executed. <br />APPROVE RESCISSION OF BID - SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that on October 28, 1986, the Board <br />awarded the bid of Mr. David L. Harris, 201 North Chicago Street, <br />South Bend, Indiana for the purchase of the following abandoned <br />vehicles offered for sale: <br />Tag #4443 Chev. $100.00 <br />Tag #7317 Buick $250.00 <br />As Mr. Harris has neither paid for the vehicles nor removed them <br />from storage, it is being recommended that the Board rescind the <br />bid award of October 28, 1986. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. <br />Vance and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the bid <br />rescinded. <br />APPROVE REOUEST TO MOVE HOUSES - LYKOWSKI CONSTRUCTION. INC. <br />Mr. Jack Mathews, Building Commissioner, has advised that Mr. <br />Timothy J. Lykowski, President, Lykowski Construction, Inc., <br />21707 West Ireland Road, South Bend, Indiana, has requested <br />permission to relocate two (2) houses as follows: <br />FROM TO <br />1601 Perthway Drive 702 Widener <br />4547 York Road 630 Widener <br />Mr. Mathews further advised that utility companies have been <br />contacted and their requirements have been satisfied. <br />Additionally, the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting has approved the <br />routes submitted for moving these houses and the appropriate <br />Certificate of Insurance has been submitted and is in order. <br />Therefore, Mr. Mathews recommends Board approval of this <br />request. <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request <br />approved. <br />FILING OF REQUEST TO WITHDRAW VACATION PETITION - E/W ALLEY <br />EXCEPTING 14' N/S INTERSECTION IN BLOCK BOUNDED BY DUBAIL, <br />CALVERT-GRANT AND WARREN STREETS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Common Council has stricken from <br />its agenda the Vacation Petition in regards to the above referred <br />to alley at the request of Mrs. Sylvia Castellon, 1801 South <br />Grant Street, South Bend, Indiana, contact person for the Alley <br />Vacation Petition. <br />
