REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 6. 1987 <br />South Gertrude Street, South Bend, Indiana. It was noted that <br />all vehicles have been stored more than fifteen (15) days, <br />identification checks had been run for auto theft and the owners <br />and lienholders notified. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, <br />seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above request was approved <br />and a date of January 20, 1987, was established for the receiving <br />and opening of sealed bids. <br />APPROVE RAILROAD AGREEMENT COVERING CONSTRUCTION OF <br />HIGHWAY -RAILWAY GRADE CROSSING AND INSTALLATION OF GRADE CROSSING <br />WARNING DEVICES - LOGAN STREET CROSSING <br />Submitted to the Board for approval was the above referred to <br />Agreement between the City and the Grand Trunk Western Railroad <br />Company which provides for the construction of a rubber pad grade <br />crossing surface and installation of new automatic cantilever <br />flashing light signals with gates at the Logan Street railroad <br />crossing. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. <br />Vance and carried, the above referred to Agreement was approved <br />and executed. <br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY - 400 BLOCK EAST SOUTH <br />STREET - REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Joseph F. Rubin, Attorney at Law, <br />Suite 710, JMS Building, 108 North Main Street, South Bend, <br />Indiana, advised that he represents parties who may be interested <br />in purchasing the undeveloped City -owned property located in the <br />400 block of East South Street and he is therefore requesting <br />information regarding the City's intent to sell said property as <br />well as the proposed selling price. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above request <br />was referred to the necessary City departments and bureaus for a <br />determination as to whether or not the City need retain the above <br />referred to property for any reason. <br />APPROVE CONTRACTOR'S BOND <br />Mr. Melvin Humphrey, Engineering Department, recommended that the <br />Contractor's Bond for Jack 0. and Joyce S. Scott, d/b/a Jack <br />Scott Concrete be approved effective January 6, 1987. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the above Contractor's Bond was approved. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the following two (2) traffic control devices were <br />approved: <br />1.
