REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 17, 1988 <br />DENY REQUEST OF CARL J. REINKE & SONS TO CLOSE TUTT STREET. FROM <br />CARROLL STREET E. TO FELLOWS STREET FOR FOUR (4) MONTHS IN <br />CONJUNCTION WITH CONSTRUCTION PROJECT - REFERRED <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments <br />and bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request <br />submitted to the Board on October 10, 1988 and it is recommended <br />that the request be denied because of traffic problems that it <br />would create to close the street. Therefore, upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the <br />recommendation was accepted and the request denied. <br />DENY SECONDHAND DEALERS LICENSE <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of a <br />Secondhand Dealers license application as follows: <br />NAME: ANTIQUE WORLD, INC. <br />BY: Mary Melching Lloyd <br />ADDRESS: 1122 Mishawaka Avenue <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING: Used furniture <br />Mr. Leszczynski further advised that the appropriate City <br />departments and bureaus have reviewed this request and the <br />Department of Code Enforcement has recommended denial at this <br />time. Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq, Director, Department of Code <br />Enforcement, advised that the building located at 1122 Mishawaka <br />Avenue has substantial substandard violations. She also advised <br />that there has been a fire at that location as well. Mrs. <br />DeClercq advised that the Department of Code Enforcement has <br />been notified by the owner of the building that the building is <br />going to be demolished and that Antique World will leave that <br />location. She therefore reiterated that it is the Department of <br />Code Enforcement's recommendation that the license application <br />be denied. Ms. Humphreys made a motion that the application be <br />denied for the reasons stated above and that safety precautions <br />be taken regarding this building. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the <br />motion and it carried. <br />FILING OF APPLICATIONS FOR BIDDER QUALIFICATION <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the following applications for bidder qualification <br />were accepted for filing and referred to the Affirmative Action <br />Review Committee for review and recommendation: <br />- International Salt Company - Cleveland Mine <br />P.O. Box 6920 <br />Cleveland, Ohio 44101 <br />- Morton Thiokol, Inc. <br />Morton Salt Division <br />1110 North Wacker Drive <br />Chicago, Illinois <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the following one (1) traffic control device was <br />approved: <br />1. NEW INSTALLATION, NO PARKING - 200 Block Cherry <br />Street, West side of street. <br />APPROVE TITLE SHEETS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Title Sheets for the following <br />projects were being presented at this time for execution: <br />
