REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 17, 1988 DENY REQUEST OF CARL J. REINKE & SONS TO CLOSE TUTT STREET. FROM CARROLL STREET E. TO FELLOWS STREET FOR FOUR (4) MONTHS IN CONJUNCTION WITH CONSTRUCTION PROJECT - REFERRED Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request submitted to the Board on October 10, 1988 and it is recommended that the request be denied because of traffic problems that it would create to close the street. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request denied. DENY SECONDHAND DEALERS LICENSE Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of a Secondhand Dealers license application as follows: NAME: ANTIQUE WORLD, INC. BY: Mary Melching Lloyd ADDRESS: 1122 Mishawaka Avenue FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING: Used furniture Mr. Leszczynski further advised that the appropriate City departments and bureaus have reviewed this request and the Department of Code Enforcement has recommended denial at this time. Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq, Director, Department of Code Enforcement, advised that the building located at 1122 Mishawaka Avenue has substantial substandard violations. She also advised that there has been a fire at that location as well. Mrs. DeClercq advised that the Department of Code Enforcement has been notified by the owner of the building that the building is going to be demolished and that Antique World will leave that location. She therefore reiterated that it is the Department of Code Enforcement's recommendation that the license application be denied. Ms. Humphreys made a motion that the application be denied for the reasons stated above and that safety precautions be taken regarding this building. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion and it carried. FILING OF APPLICATIONS FOR BIDDER QUALIFICATION Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the following applications for bidder qualification were accepted for filing and referred to the Affirmative Action Review Committee for review and recommendation: - International Salt Company - Cleveland Mine P.O. Box 6920 Cleveland, Ohio 44101 - Morton Thiokol, Inc. Morton Salt Division 1110 North Wacker Drive Chicago, Illinois APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the following one (1) traffic control device was approved: 1. NEW INSTALLATION, NO PARKING - 200 Block Cherry Street, West side of street. APPROVE TITLE SHEETS Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Title Sheets for the following projects were being presented at this time for execution:
