REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 15. 1988 <br />REQUEST TO CLOSE THE 400 BLOCK OF NORTH COQUILLARD STREET FOR <br />NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY - SEPTEMBER 3, 1988 - REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Tessa McGann, 401 North Coquillard <br />Drive, South Bend, Indiana, requested that the 400 block of North <br />Coquillard be closed on September 3, 1988 (raindate of September <br />4, 1988) from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. for a neighborhood block <br />party. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. <br />Humphreys and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division <br />for review and recommendation. <br />REOUEST OF FIRST A.M.E. ZION CHURCH TO CLOSE CAMPEAU STREET. AT <br />EDDY. FOR CHURCH BAZAAR - AUGUST 27. 1988 - REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Wendell Preston, Chairman of Mens <br />Day Committee, First AME Zion Church, 801 North Eddy Street, <br />South Bend, Indiana, requested that Campeau Street at Eddy <br />Street, by the church, be closed from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. <br />for the Church's bazaar on August 27, 1988. Upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the <br />request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and <br />the Police Department Traffic Division for review and <br />recommendation. <br />REQUEST OF P.N.A., #83 CLUB AND "WHAMMA JAM FOR M.D.A." TO <br />CONDUCT INTERSECTION SOLICITATIONS - SEPTEMBER 4-5, 1988 <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Cindy Francis, Chairman, Whamma JAM <br />for MDA, Polish National Alliance of the U.S. of the N.A., 2401 <br />Western Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, on behalf of the PNA #83 <br />Club and members of "WHAMMA JAM for MDA" requested permission for <br />group members to solicit monetary donations for Muscular <br />Dystrophy on the corners of Western Avenue and Olive Streets on <br />Sunday, September 4, 1988 from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on <br />Monday, September 5, 1988 from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the above request was referred to the appropriate <br />City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the following two (2) traffic control devices were <br />approved: <br />1. NEW INSTALLATION, DEAF CHILD IN THIS BLOCK - 1200 <br />block King Street. <br />2. NEW INSTALLATION, SCHOOL SPEED LIMIT SIGN ASSEMBLY - <br />HARRISON SCHOOL <br />Western - East bound and West bound 3100 block and <br />3500 block. Ford Street - North and South bound - <br />3300 block - 3100 block. <br />HOLY CROSS <br />Wilber Street - North & South Bound - 800 Block & <br />1200 Block. <br />KENNEDY SCHOOL <br />Olive Street - North & South Bound 500 Block & 700 Block <br />LAFAYETTE SCHOOL <br />Linden - East & West Bound 4600 Block & 4800 Block <br />Lombardy North Bound - 100 Block <br />MADISON SCHOOL <br />Lafayette North & South Bound 700 Block & 800 Block. <br />
