REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 15, 1988 WHEREAS, the following Street Department office equipment is unfit and no longer needed by the City of South Bend: One (1) Victor Champion calculator One (1) Victor Model 306 calculator One (1) Unisonic XL-134B calculator One (1) Unisonic XL-121 calculator One (1) Sharp EL-11977 calculator Two (2) Norelco 154097 dictaphones NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend that each item of the equipment listed above is no longer needed by the City and is unfit for the purpose for which it was intended and has an estimated value of less than $500.00 and that all of the equipment listed above has a total estimated value of less than $1,000.00. Parmerlee, Clerk FILING OF APPLICATIONS FOR BIDDER QUALIFICATION Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the following applications for bidder qualification were accepted for filing and referred to the Affirmative Action Review Committee for review and recommendation: 1. Berreth Oil, Inc. 2. Petroleum Traders Corp. 3. Smith Petroleum, Inc. NEIGHB LOSE 700 BLOCK OF BLOCK PARTY - SE WELLINGTON STREET In a letter to the Board, Mr. Louis Leonard, 735 South Wellington, South Bend, Indiana, requested that the 700 block of South Wellington Street, be closed from 12:00 noon to 10:00 p.m. on September 4, 1988 for a neighborhood block party. Mr. Leonard's request contained the signatures of thirteen (13) residents of the 700 block of Wellington Street in favor of this request. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for review and recommendation. REQUEST TO CLOSE BELMONT STREET, FROM INTERSECTION AT SUNNYS WEST TO THE SECOND ALLEY - FOR NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY - SEPTEMBER 4, 1988 Mr. Louis M. Seago III, 1145 Belmont Street, South Bend, Indiana, requested that Belmont Street from the intersection at Sunnyside west to the second alley be closed on Sunday, September 4, 1988 from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. (rain date September 5, 1988 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.) for a neighborhood block party. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for review and recommendation. 1 I
