REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 15, 1988 <br />PROJECT NO. MG-SO91 <br />- Logan Street/Mishawaka Avenue <br />PROJECT NO. MG-S124 <br />- Portage Avenue/California Avenue <br />- Portage Avenue/Lindsey Avenue <br />Mr. Meeks requested that the Utility Agreements be approved and <br />executed prior to the final execution of the Agreements by the <br />State for their financial assistance on these projects. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. <br />Humphreys and carried, the Utility Agreements as submitted were <br />approved and executed. <br />APPROVE TELEPHONE MAINTENANCE CONTRACT - INDIANA BELL TELEPHONE <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that Mr. Steve White, City Auditor/ <br />Investment officer, has submitted to the Board a Telephone <br />Equipment Maintenance Agreement with Indiana Bell Communications <br />for which he recommends Board approval. Mr. White stated that the <br />Agreement is for the period of three (3) years, with monthly <br />payments of $1,512.50 for a cost of $18,150.00 yearly for a total <br />cost of $54,450.00. Further, this Contract will cover any <br />additional telephone equipment purchases by the City in the next <br />three (3) years. The Agreement further indicates that Indiana <br />Bell Communications have within twenty-four (24) hours (eight <br />business hours) to respond and repair the telephone equipment. <br />Ms. Humphreys noted that the Board is not actually signing the <br />agreement as the County will be signing it. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. <br />DeClercq and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the <br />Contract as submitted approved. <br />APPROVE CONTRACT FOR LEGAL SERVICES - ST. JOSEPH COUNTY JOB <br />TRAINING PROGRAM <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Ms. Jenny Pitts Manier, Assistant <br />City Attorney, submitted to the Board a Contract between the City <br />and the St. Joseph County Job Training Program for legal <br />services. Ms. Manier noted that the Contract indicates that the <br />St. Joseph County Job Training Program will retain the services of <br />a Deputy City Attorney for advice and assistance on legal matters <br />relating to the conduct of the JTP program. These services, up to <br />a maximum of six (6) hours per month, will be available for a <br />fixed fee of $300.00 per month during the 7-1-88 through 6-30-89 <br />period. Legal services exceeding the $300.00 monthly limit may be <br />available at a rate of $50.00 per hour pending the approval of the <br />JTP Board of Directors. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. <br />Humphreys and carried, the Contract was approved and executed. <br />ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 24_-1988 - DISPOSAL OF OBSOLETE EQUIPMENT <br />(STREET DEPARTMENT) <br />Mr. W.S. Penn, Director, Division of Transportation, requested <br />permission to dispose of the six (6) pieces of office equipment <br />which are either obsolete or not in working order and no longer <br />used by the Street Department. Therefore, upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the <br />following Resolution No. 24-1988 was adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 24-1988 <br />WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-1-11-6 permits and establishes <br />procedure for disposal of personal property which is unfit for <br />the purpose for which it was intended which is no longer needed <br />by the City. <br />
