REGULAR MEETING

<br />Additionally, Rose Fuel and Materials, Inc., has submitted to the
<br />City a Warranty Deed for these two (2) parcels of property.
<br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms.
<br />Humphreys and carried, the Acceptance of Offers, Purchase
<br />Agreements and the Warranty Deed were approved.
<br />AWARD BID AND APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT NILES AVENUE PHASE
<br />II PROJECT
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Michael P. Meeks, Director, Division
<br />of Engineering, recommended that the Board accept the low bid of
<br />Walsh & Kelly, Inc., 24358 State Road 23, South Bend, Indiana, in
<br />the amount of $382,736.00 for the above referred to project. It
<br />was noted that, bids for this project were opened by the Board on
<br />July 18, 1988. Mr. Leszczynski further advised that in accordance
<br />with the award of this bid, a Contract in said amount was being
<br />submitted for Board approval. Upon a motion made by Mrs.
<br />DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the above bid was
<br />awarded and the Contract approved, subject to the filing of the
<br />appropriate Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment
<br />Bond.

<br />In a letter to the Board, Police Chief Charles T. Hurley
<br />recommended that the Board award the following bids:

<br />Full -Service Car Wash, 0-100 units per mo. - $4.25 each
<br />Full -Service Car Wash, 100 or more units per mo. - $4.00 each
<br />Full -Service Jeeps - $4.50 each
<br />Motorcycles - $3.50 each
<br />It was noted that these services are provided at two (2)
<br />locations, 609 E. LaSalle, South Bend, IN and 2615 L.W.W.,
<br />Mishawaka, Indiana.

<br />APPROVE UTILITY AGREEMENTS - INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS AT FIVE (5)
<br />LOCATIONS
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Michael P. Meeks, Director, Division
<br />of Engineering, submitted Utility Agreements with the South Bend
<br />Water Works, Indiana Michigan Power Company, Heritage Cablevision
<br />Corporation, Indiana Bell Telephone Company, Northern Indiana
<br />Public Service Company and the South Bend Bureau of Sewers for
<br />three (3) projects which entail intersection improvements at the
<br />following five (5) intersections:
