<br />Indiana, in the amount of $70,879.00 with a three (3) year lease
<br />purchase package price of $81,868.74 and an interest rate of
<br />7.7%.
<br />Fire Chief Luther Taylor was present and advised that a concern
<br />of the Department was that McCoy Miller originally indicated that
<br />delivery of the ambulance would take three and one-half (3 1/2)
<br />months. However, McCoy Miller has now advised, and stated in a
<br />Memorandum of Agreement, that the ambulance will be delivered in
<br />sixty (60) days and that a penalty charge of $500.00 per day will
<br />be assessed should they not meet that delivery schedule.
<br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Humphreys, seconded by Mr.
<br />Leszczynski and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the
<br />bid awarded.
<br />APPROVE CARNIVAL AND CIRCUS LICENSE APPLICATION
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of a
<br />Carnival and Circus license application as submitted by Jennifer
<br />Brickley, 52011 Farmington Square Road, Granger, Indiana, on
<br />behalf of Circus Flora, to conduct a circus from July 21-25, 1988
<br />on the Shopper's Park Free lot located in downtown South Bend.
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that various City departments and bureaus
<br />have reviewed this request and several meetings have been held to
<br />discuss the arrangements for this event. Based on those
<br />meetings, it is the recommendation of the departments having
<br />reviewed this application, that the application be approved as
<br />submitted.
<br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Humphreys, seconded by Mr.
<br />Leszczynski and carried, the application was approved.
<br />REQUEST TO CLOSE DAYTON STREET, BETWEEN HIGH AND DALE STREET,
<br />FOR A NEIGHBORHOOD_ BLOCK PARTY ON JULY 8, 1988 - REFERRED
<br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Roberta Crossley, 910 East Dayton
<br />Street, South Bend, Indiana, requested that Dayton Street,
<br />between High and Dale, be closed for a neighborhood block party
<br />on July 8, 1988 from 5:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight. Upon a motion
<br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried,
<br />the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting
<br />and the Police Department Traffic Division for review and
<br />recommendation.

<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting
<br />and the Police Department have reviewed the above referred to
<br />block party requests which were submitted to the Board on June 6,
<br />13 and 20, 1988 and recommend approval.
<br />It was noted that the request to close Bowman, from Caroline to
<br />Robinson, on July 4, 1988, from 3:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight,
<br />submitted by Mr. Ray Bush, Sr., 1625 East Bowman and signed by
<br />seventeen (17) residents of the neighborhood and the request to
