WR <br />REGULAR MEETING MAY 23, 1988 <br />REQUEST TO CLOSE 1000 BLOCK OF WOODWARD FOR ANNUAL BLOCK PARTY - <br />JUNE 11, 1988 - REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Lenore Peltz, 1063 Woodward, South <br />Bend, Indiana, advised that the ten hundred block of Woodward, <br />between Golden Avenue and Vassar Street, will be having an annual <br />block party on June 11, 1988. Therefore, they request that the <br />street be closed from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, <br />the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />and the Police Department Traffic Division for review and <br />recommendation. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CLOSE CAMPEAU STREET AT EDDY FOR A.M.E. ZION <br />CHURCH ANNUAL CAR WASH - MAY 28, 1988 <br />Mr. Wendell Preston, Chairman of Mens Day Committee, First AME <br />Zion Church, 801 North Eddy Street, South Bend, Indiana, <br />requested permission to close off one block of Campeau Street at <br />Eddy for the church annual car wash from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. <br />on May 28, 1988. Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division <br />have reviewed this request and recommend approval. Therefore, <br />upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the above referred to request was approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF CHAUFFEURS, TEAMSTERS AND HELPERS LOCAL UNION <br />NO. 364 TO UTILIZE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY FOR LUNCHEON COOKOUT - MAY <br />27, 1988 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request submitted to <br />the Board on May 16, 1988 and recommend approval. It was noted <br />that the luncheon cookout will take place on the treelawn area at <br />1916 South Main Street. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, <br />seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the recommendation was <br />accepted and the request approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF THE HOLLADAY CORPORATION TO INSTALL BARRICADES <br />IN FRONT OF 614 NORTH MICHIGAN STREET <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request submitted to <br />the Board on May 2, 1988, and recommend approval. Upon a motion <br />made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, <br />the recommendation was accepted and the request approved. <br />APPROVE APPLICATIONS FOR BIDDER UALIFICATION/CERTIFICATION <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Affirmative Action Review Board <br />has advised that after a complete review, they have found that <br />the following companies meet the requirements of the South Bend <br />Affirmative Action Ordinance and would therefore recommend that <br />these companies be approved as qualified City bidders: <br />1. CS Associates, Inc. <br />2. Benefit America <br />3. Elf Asphalt, Inc. <br />4. Cannon Turf Supply <br />5. Watcon <br />6. Government Leasing <br />7. Lincoln National <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the applications <br />were approved. <br />FILING OF APPLICATIONS FOR BIDDER QUALIFICATION/CERTIFICATION <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the following applications for bidder qualification/ <br />F-j <br />1 <br />
