1 REGULAR MEETING MAY 2, 1988 party. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for review and recommendation. APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq, Director, Department of Code Enforcement, requested permission to advertise for the sale of approximately twenty-five (25) abandoned vehicles, which are being stored at South Bend Auto Parts, 307 West Calvert Street, South Bend, Indiana. It was noted that all vehicles have been stored more than fifteen (15) days, identification checks had been run for auto theft and the owners and lienholders notified. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the above request was approved and a date of May 23, 1988, was established for the receiving and opening of sealed bids. APPROVE REQUEST TO UTILIZE PUBLIC BUILDINGS FOR VOTING PURPOSES - MAY 3, 1988 Mr. Kenneth P. Fedder, Chairman, St. Joseph County Democratic Central Committee, requested the Board's permission to use the following public buildings for voting purposes on Primary Election Day, May 3, 1988: Fire Station #2 110 East Marion Street Fire Station #3 1805 McKinley Avenue Fire Station #5 2221 Prairie Avenue Fire Station #6 4302 Western Avenue Fire Station #7 1616 Portage Avenue Fire Station #9 2520 Mishawaka Avenue Fire Station #10 308 West Ireland Road Potawatomi Greenhouse 2105 Mishawaka Avenue Pinhook Pavilion 2801 Riverside Drive Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the request as submitted was approved. REQUEST OF THE HOLLADAY CORPORATION TO INSTALL BARRICADES ALONG MICHIGAN STREET IN CONJUNCTION WITH DEVELOPMENT AT 614 NORTH MICHIGAN STREET - REFERRED In a letter to the Board, Mr. Russ Howard, The Holladay Corporation, One Michiana Square, 100 East Wayne Street, Suite 405, South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to install barricades along Michigan Street in front of the proposed development at 614 North Michigan Street. Mr. Howard stated that their intention is to install a wood fence along the sidewalk. It was noted that Mr. Howard submitted a map showing the location of the fence with his request. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the request was referred to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. Mr. Leszczynski stated that Ms. Patti Wilkinson, Madison Home School Organization Co -Chairman, has advised that Madison School will be having their annual ice cream social on Friday, May 20, 1988 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. It is therefore requested that Park Lane, adjacent to the school between Lafayette and Main Streets, be barricaded to insure the safety of the children attending this event. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried the request was referred to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation.
