1 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 2, 1988 <br />party. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. <br />DeClercq and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division <br />for review and recommendation. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - SALE OF <br />ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq, Director, Department of Code <br />Enforcement, requested permission to advertise for the sale of <br />approximately twenty-five (25) abandoned vehicles, which are <br />being stored at South Bend Auto Parts, 307 West Calvert Street, <br />South Bend, Indiana. It was noted that all vehicles have been <br />stored more than fifteen (15) days, identification checks had <br />been run for auto theft and the owners and lienholders notified. <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the above request was approved and a date of May 23, <br />1988, was established for the receiving and opening of sealed <br />bids. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO UTILIZE PUBLIC BUILDINGS FOR VOTING PURPOSES - <br />MAY 3, 1988 <br />Mr. Kenneth P. Fedder, Chairman, St. Joseph County Democratic <br />Central Committee, requested the Board's permission to use the <br />following public buildings for voting purposes on Primary <br />Election Day, May 3, 1988: <br />Fire Station #2 110 East Marion Street <br />Fire Station #3 1805 McKinley Avenue <br />Fire Station #5 2221 Prairie Avenue <br />Fire Station #6 4302 Western Avenue <br />Fire Station #7 1616 Portage Avenue <br />Fire Station #9 2520 Mishawaka Avenue <br />Fire Station #10 308 West Ireland Road <br />Potawatomi Greenhouse 2105 Mishawaka Avenue <br />Pinhook Pavilion 2801 Riverside Drive <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the request as submitted was approved. <br />REQUEST OF THE HOLLADAY CORPORATION TO INSTALL BARRICADES ALONG <br />MICHIGAN STREET IN CONJUNCTION WITH DEVELOPMENT AT 614 NORTH <br />MICHIGAN STREET - REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Russ Howard, The Holladay <br />Corporation, One Michiana Square, 100 East Wayne Street, Suite <br />405, South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to install <br />barricades along Michigan Street in front of the proposed <br />development at 614 North Michigan Street. Mr. Howard stated that <br />their intention is to install a wood fence along the sidewalk. <br />It was noted that Mr. Howard submitted a map showing the location <br />of the fence with his request. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the request <br />was referred to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for <br />review and recommendation. <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that Ms. Patti Wilkinson, Madison Home <br />School Organization Co -Chairman, has advised that Madison School <br />will be having their annual ice cream social on Friday, May 20, <br />1988 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. It is therefore requested that <br />Park Lane, adjacent to the school between Lafayette and Main <br />Streets, be barricaded to insure the safety of the children <br />attending this event. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried the request was referred to <br />the appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and <br />recommendation. <br />
