rub REGULAR MEETING APRIL 25, 1988 WHEREAS, the City of South Bend has no use for said property, and it being the general policy of the City of South Bend that all property which it does not use should remain on the Tax Rolls of the City of South Bend; and WHEREAS, the City of South Bend by and through its Board of Public Works expressly and unequivocally renounces acceptance of this Deed; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, that the Deed recorded on November 18, 1987, instrument number 8737053, is not accepted by the City of South Bend and the City acknowledges no ownership interest in this property. Parmerlee, Clerk Board of Public Works PETITION FOR TEMPORARY CLOSING OF 35TH STREET AT WASHINGTON STREET - REFERRED Ms. Lisa Gammon, 324 Bercliff Drive, South Bend, Indiana, submitted to the Board a Petition signed by approximately one hundred (100) residents of Bercliff Estates in regards to the temporary closing of 35th Street. Ms. Gammon stated in her letter to the Board that the residents of Bercliff Estates are concerned about the tremendous increase of traffic being generated in their neighborhood due to the closing of Logan Street during widening construction. She stated that they do not have sidewalks, which causes a dangerous situation for children, walkers, and joggers. The streets are narrow and winding and are only two (2) lanes wide. The increase in traffic through the neighborhood has increased tremendously and therefore the homeowners of Bercliff petition the Board to temporarily close 35th Street at Washington Street for the duration of the construction. They also request that signs be posted "No Outlet" at each entrance on McKinley Highway. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the Petition was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for review and recommendation. FILING OF APPLICATIONS FOR BIDDER QUALIFICATION Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the following applications for bidder qualification and/or certification were accepted for filing and referred to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation: 1.
