RVE REGULAR MEETING APRIL 11, 1988 WHEREAS, John W. Forslund is retiring from the South Bend Police Department after twenty (20) years of service and the Board of Public Safety of the City of South Bend has deter- mined that he is retiring in good standing; and WHEREAS, I.C. 36-1-11-6 permits and establishes procedure for disposal of personal property which is no longer needed by the City and which is unfit for the purpose for which it was intended; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend that service revolver Serial No. 252K122, a .357 caliber Smith and Wesson revolver, is no longer needed by the City and is unfit for the purpose for which it was intended and has an estimated fair market value of less than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00). BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said property be disposed of and removed from the City inventory. ADOPTED this llth day of April, 1988. BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND s/Patricia E. MARCH AND RALLY - APRIL 21 1988 Mrs. DeClercq advised that the appropriate City departments and bureaus have reviewed the request submitted to the Board on March 28, 1988 to conduct the above referred to march and rally on April 21, 1988 and recommend approval. The Police Department Traffic Division advised that the participants must stay on the sidewalks at all times and obey all traffic signs/law and signals and that no police escort will be provided. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Humphreys, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request approved. APPROVE REQUEST OF ST. JOSEPH COUNTY MEMORIAL SOCIETY TO CLOSE WASHINGT_ON STREET FOR MEMORIAL DAY ACTIVITIES - MAY 30, 1988 Mrs. DeClercq stated that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, Police Department Traffic Division and the City Attorney's office have reviewed the above referred to request submitted to the Board on April 4, 1988 and recommend approval. It was noted that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting has advised that the Petitioner will be responsible for the placement of the barricades at the beginning of the activities and for their removal at the conclusion. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the recommendations were accepted and the request approved. APPROVE APPLICATIONS FOR BIDDER _QUALIFICATION/CERTIFICATION Mrs. DeClercq advised that Mr. Jimmy Scott, EEO Officer for the City, has advised that he has reviewed the applications for bidder qualification and/or certification as submitted by the below listed applicants and has found that they have met the requirements of the South Bend Affirmative Action Ordinance. He therefore recommends that the following be approved as qualified City bidders and/or certified as a minority owned business:
