RVE <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 11, 1988 <br />WHEREAS, John W. Forslund is retiring from the South Bend <br />Police Department after twenty (20) years of service and the <br />Board of Public Safety of the City of South Bend has deter- <br />mined that he is retiring in good standing; and <br />WHEREAS, I.C. 36-1-11-6 permits and establishes procedure <br />for disposal of personal property which is no longer needed by <br />the City and which is unfit for the purpose for which it was <br />intended; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works <br />of the City of South Bend that service revolver Serial No. <br />252K122, a .357 caliber Smith and Wesson revolver, is no longer <br />needed by the City and is unfit for the purpose for which it was <br />intended and has an estimated fair market value of less than <br />Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00). <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said property be disposed of <br />and removed from the City inventory. <br />ADOPTED this llth day of April, 1988. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />s/Patricia E. DeClercq <br />s/Katherine Humphreys <br />ATTEST: <br />s/Sandra M. Parmerlee, Clerk <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT "WOMEN CLAIMING THE NIGHT MARCH FOR <br />VICTIM'S RIGHTS." MARCH AND RALLY - APRIL 21 1988 <br />Mrs. DeClercq advised that the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus have reviewed the request submitted to the Board on <br />March 28, 1988 to conduct the above referred to march and rally <br />on April 21, 1988 and recommend approval. The Police Department <br />Traffic Division advised that the participants must stay on the <br />sidewalks at all times and obey all traffic signs/law and <br />signals and that no police escort will be provided. Therefore, <br />upon a motion made by Ms. Humphreys, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request <br />approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF ST. JOSEPH COUNTY MEMORIAL SOCIETY TO CLOSE <br />WASHINGT_ON STREET FOR MEMORIAL DAY ACTIVITIES - MAY 30, 1988 <br />Mrs. DeClercq stated that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />Police Department Traffic Division and the City Attorney's <br />office have reviewed the above referred to request submitted to <br />the Board on April 4, 1988 and recommend approval. It was noted <br />that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting has advised that the <br />Petitioner will be responsible for the placement of the <br />barricades at the beginning of the activities and for their <br />removal at the conclusion. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, <br />seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the recommendations were <br />accepted and the request approved. <br />APPROVE APPLICATIONS FOR BIDDER _QUALIFICATION/CERTIFICATION <br />Mrs. DeClercq advised that Mr. Jimmy Scott, EEO Officer for the <br />City, has advised that he has reviewed the applications for <br />bidder qualification and/or certification as submitted by the <br />below listed applicants and has found that they have met the <br />requirements of the South Bend Affirmative Action Ordinance. He <br />therefore recommends that the following be approved as qualified <br />City bidders and/or certified as a minority owned business: <br />
