e f <br />• '� <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 11, 1988 <br />WHEREAS, the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns <br />conducts conventions each year throughout the State for the <br />benefit of all its members, and the City of South Bend was <br />pleased to have served as its host in 1984; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of South Bend would again like to welcome <br />the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns to South Bend in <br />1990 for the 90th Annual IACT Convention. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works <br />of the City of South Bend as follows: <br />Section I. That a warm welcome be given to the Site <br />Selection Committee of the Indiana Associa- <br />tion of Cities and Towns in the hope that <br />South Bend will again be honored to serve as <br />host for the annual convention of 1990. <br />Section II. That the City of South Bend is happy to <br />offer its visitors excellent convention <br />facilities, lodging, food and a relaxing <br />atmosphere for the convention events. <br />Section III. That the citizens and the Administration <br />of the City of South Bend pledge to do <br />everything possible to insure a successful <br />and enjoyable convention for all in 1990. <br />Section IV. That the Administration extends its best <br />wishes to all its IACT friends and looks <br />forward to again having them join us in 1990. <br />ADOPTED: April 11, 1988. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/Patricia E. Parmerlee <br />ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 10-1988 - DISPOSAL OF POLICE SERVICE <br />RF.VOT.VF:R <br />Mrs. DeClercq advised that in accordance with a new ordinance <br />which was passed by the Common Council setting out a procedure <br />for the disposal of a service revolver of a police officer that <br />retires in good standing, the following Resolution declares that <br />the service revolver is no longer needed by the City and should <br />be disposed of accordingly. Board attorney Thomas Bodnar <br />advised that he has reviewed this Resolution and it is in <br />order. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Humphreys, seconded <br />by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the following Resolution No. <br />10-1988 was adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 10-1988 <br />WHEREAS, I.C. 36-9-6-1 gives the Board of Public Works of <br />the City of South Bend the right and duty to have custody of, <br />control of, use of, and dispose of in accordance with Indiana <br />statutes, all real and personal property owned by the City of <br />South Bend; and <br />WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of South Bend <br />passed as amended on January 11, 1988, Ordinance No. 7847-88, <br />which mandates the Board of Public Works of the City of South <br />Bend to determine that the service revolver of a police officer <br />who retires in good standing is surplus property and no longer <br />useful to the City of South Bend; and <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />
