REGULAR MEETING MARCH 14. 1988 <br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 2 (FINAL) - CAST -IN PLACE CONCRETE <br />PROJECT (STANLEY COVELESKI REGIONAL BASEBALL STADIUM) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Carl J. Reinke & Sons, Inc., General <br />Contractors, P.O. Box 3095, South Bend, Indiana, and Hellmuth, <br />Obata & Kassabaum, Inc., 323 West 8th Street, Suite 700, Kansas <br />City, MO, Architect, have submitted Change Order No. 2 (Final) <br />for the above referred to project indicating an increase of <br />$39,327.52 making the new final cost including this Change Order <br />$1,162,575.52. He explained that the increased cost is for <br />additional work at the first and third base wings and third base <br />ramp as well as an additional amount required for construction <br />work done during the winter. Upon a motion made by Mrs. <br />DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the Change <br />Order as submitted was approved. <br />REQUEST OF MAURICE MATTHYS LITTLE LEAGUE TO CONDUCT PARADE - MAY <br />14, 1988 - REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Bob Blondell, Executive <br />Vice -President, Maurice Matthys Little League, Box 3074, South <br />Bend, Indiana, requested permission to conduct a parade on <br />Saturday, May 14, 1988 beginning at 9:00 a.m. utilizing the <br />following route: <br />Begin at Matthys Little League Park, proceed east on Meadow <br />Lane to Edison, north on Edison and Villageway to Washington, <br />East on Washington to Gladstone, north on Gladstone to Linden, <br />West on Linden to Lombardy Drive, south on Lombardy Drive to <br />Ford, west on Ford to Sample, east on Sample to Evergreen, <br />south on Evergreen to ballpark. <br />Mr. Blondell further advised that approximately sixty (60) <br />vehicles will participate in this parade. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the request was referred to the appropriate City <br />departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. <br />FILING OF APPLICATION FOR BIDDER QUALIFICATION/CERTIFICATION <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the following application for bidder qualification/ <br />certification was accepted for filing and referred to the <br />necessary City departments and bureaus for review and <br />recommendation: <br />1. Torok Excavating & Demolition, Inc. <br />54195 North Burdette Street <br />South Bend, Indiana 46637 <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT MOONLIGHT WALK AGAINST CRIME - APRIL <br />30, 1988 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the various City departments and <br />bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request submitted to <br />the Board on February 22, 1988 and recommend approval. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. <br />Leszczynski and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the <br />request approved. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the following two (2) traffic control devices were <br />approved: <br />1. NEW INSTALLATION, HANDICAP ZONE TOW AWAY ZONE - <br />749 Harrison Avenue. (St. Paul's Lutheran Church). <br />2. NEW INSTALLATION, NO PARKING - 100 W. Bowman, North <br />& South Side. <br />
