REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 7, 1988 <br />1 <br />1 <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF MARCH OF DIMES TO CONDUCT 1! <br />AMERICA-APRIL 23, 1988 <br />WALK <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request submitted to <br />the Board on February 8, 1988 and recommend approval at this <br />time. It was noted that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting has <br />advised that the the route submitted with the request was <br />modified due to the Logan Street construction. The route is now <br />as follows: Logan - Mishawaka to Hastings, Hastings - Logan to <br />35th Street, 35th - Hastings to Jefferson. Therefore, upon a <br />motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request <br />approved. <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATIONS - RUBBISH AND GARBAGE <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following two (2) Rubbish and <br />Garbage license applications have been received: <br />1. B&B Rubbish Removal, Inc. (John Barbara) <br />55400 Pine Road, S.B. <br />2. S.B. Scrap and Processing Division <br />Sturgis Iron & Metal Co., Inc. <br />1305 Prairie Ave., S.B. <br />It was noted that inspections of the trucks to be used had been <br />conducted by the Solid Waste Bureau and both applicants were <br />found to be in compliance. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, <br />seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the above license <br />applications were approved and referred to the Deputy <br />Controller's office for issuance of licenses. <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATIONS - SECONDHAND DEALER <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following three (3) secondhand <br />dealers license applications have been received: <br />NAME: <br />BY: <br />ADDRESS: <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING: <br />NAME: <br />BY: <br />ADDRESS: <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING: <br />NAME: <br />BY: <br />ADDRESS: <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING: <br />NEAT STUFF STORE <br />Marla Dill <br />804 West Indiana Avenue <br />New & used furniture <br />B & S ENTERPRISES <br />Robert Nowaczewski <br />2031 South Michigan Street <br />Used appliances <br />ANCHOR SALES <br />Howard Charles <br />1020 L.W.W. <br />Used clothing & Misc. <br />Mr. Leszczynski further advised that favorable recommendations <br />have been received from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />Department of Code Enforcement, Police Department and Fire <br />Department on the above applications. Upon a motion made by Mrs. <br />DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the above <br />license applications were approved and referred to the Deputy <br />Controller's office for issuance of licenses. <br />FILING OF APPLICATIONS FOR BIDDER QUALIFICATION/CERTIFICATION <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the following applications were accepted for filing <br />and referred to the appropriate City departments for review and <br />recommendation: <br />
