REGULAR MEETING MARCH 7, 1988 1 1 APPROVE REQUEST OF MARCH OF DIMES TO CONDUCT 1! AMERICA-APRIL 23, 1988 WALK Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request submitted to the Board on February 8, 1988 and recommend approval at this time. It was noted that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting has advised that the the route submitted with the request was modified due to the Logan Street construction. The route is now as follows: Logan - Mishawaka to Hastings, Hastings - Logan to 35th Street, 35th - Hastings to Jefferson. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request approved. APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATIONS - RUBBISH AND GARBAGE Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following two (2) Rubbish and Garbage license applications have been received: 1. B&B Rubbish Removal, Inc. (John Barbara) 55400 Pine Road, S.B. 2. S.B. Scrap and Processing Division Sturgis Iron & Metal Co., Inc. 1305 Prairie Ave., S.B. It was noted that inspections of the trucks to be used had been conducted by the Solid Waste Bureau and both applicants were found to be in compliance. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the above license applications were approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's office for issuance of licenses. APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATIONS - SECONDHAND DEALER Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following three (3) secondhand dealers license applications have been received: NAME: BY: ADDRESS: FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING: NAME: BY: ADDRESS: FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING: NAME: BY: ADDRESS: FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING: NEAT STUFF STORE Marla Dill 804 West Indiana Avenue New & used furniture B & S ENTERPRISES Robert Nowaczewski 2031 South Michigan Street Used appliances ANCHOR SALES Howard Charles 1020 L.W.W. Used clothing & Misc. Mr. Leszczynski further advised that favorable recommendations have been received from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, Department of Code Enforcement, Police Department and Fire Department on the above applications. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the above license applications were approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's office for issuance of licenses. FILING OF APPLICATIONS FOR BIDDER QUALIFICATION/CERTIFICATION Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the following applications were accepted for filing and referred to the appropriate City departments for review and recommendation:
