Ms. <br />Duda also recommended that instead of stockpiling poles that are <br />removed from one area they could be placed in another area. Mr. <br />Leszczynski noted that the City does not typically receive <br />requests for the removal of poles. <br />There being no further comments regarding this matter, Mr. <br />Leszczynski made a motion that the Petition be referred to the <br />appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and <br />recommendation. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT ANNUAL HOLIDAY PARADE - NOVEMBER 18, <br />1989 <br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Ms. Mikki Dobski, Director, Office <br />of Community Affairs, requested permission to conduct the Annual <br />Holiday Parade on Saturday, November 18, 1989, beginning at 11:00 <br />a.m. Ms. Dobski noted that she has already discussed this parade <br />with the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department <br />Traffic Division and she is requesting the same route as utilized <br />last year which is as follows: <br />Wayne Street (one (1) block east of St. Joseph), <br />to St. Joseph, St. Joseph to Colfax, Colfax to <br />Michigan and Michigan to Western with disbanding <br />on Western Avenue, east of St. Joseph. <br />Ms. Dobski further noted that the two (2) municipal parking <br />garages will have restricted access during the final set-up and <br />during the parade itself and therefore cars will be dispersed <br />between the parade units by Civil Defense or Police personnel. <br />She also noted that with Board approval, final details regarding <br />street closing notices and equipment supplies needed will be <br />handled with the appropriate departments. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the request was approved. <br />REQUEST OF FOREST SIGN & DISPLAY, INC. TO INSTALL ONE (1) <br />ELECTRIC SIGN THAT WILL ENCROACH ONTO PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY AT 744 <br />SOUTH MAIN STREET - REFERRED <br />In a letter to'the Board, Mr. Donald Jesswein, Forest Sign & <br />Display, Inc., 2729 South Main Street, South Bend, Indiana, <br />requested permission to install one (1) 91x8' DF electric sign at <br />Meyers Hardware Store, 744 South Main Street, which will infringe <br />over the right-of-way by six feet (61). Mr. Jesswein stated that <br />the sign will be attached directly to the building and that the <br />height of the sign, grade to bottom, will be ten feet (10'). <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the request was referred to the appropriate City <br />departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. <br />APPROVE REQUESTS: <br />- OF SOUTHOLD DANCENTER FOR TRAFFIC ASSISTANCE IN CONJUNCTION <br />WITH HOLIDAY WALK - NOVEMBER 8, 1989 <br />1- <br />- OF ST.
