REGULAR MEETING <br />OCTOBER 2, 1989 <br />2. That the Department of Economic Development of the City <br />of South Bend shall be and hereby is authorized to act as the <br />representative of the Board of Public Works and City of South <br />Bend, as Maple Lane School property owner, to cause to be filed <br />with the South Bend City Clerk, a petition to.vacate the <br />above -described public rights -of -way, existing -over and upon the <br />Maple Lane School property, and to take all other actions <br />necessary or useful for securing said vacation. <br />3. DeClercq, Member <br />ATTEST: s/Katherine Humphreys, Member <br />s/Sandra M.-Parmerlee, Clerk <br />ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 40-1989 - AUTHORIZING THE USE AND OCCUPANCY <br />OF THE STUDEBAKER MUSEUM PARKING LOT AND THE NEWMAN CENTER BY THE <br />FRIENDS OF THE STUDEBAKER CORRIDOR <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Resolution submitted today <br />provides permission to the Friends of the Studebaker Corridor to <br />utilize the parking lot at The Studebaker National Museum and The <br />Newman Center for a petition drive which will take place on <br />Friday, October 6, 1989 and Saturday, October 7, 1989. <br />Therefore, Ms. Humphreys made a motion that the Resolution as <br />submitted be approved. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which <br />carried and the following Resolution No. 40-1989 was adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 40-1989 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />AUTHORIZING THE USE AND OCCUPANCY <br />OF THE STUDEBAKER MUSEUM PARKING LOT <br />AND <br />THE NEWMAN CENTER <br />BY THE FRIENDS OF THE STUDEBAKER CORRIDOR <br />WHEREAS, the City of South Bend is the owner of property <br />commonly known as the Studebaker Museum and adjacent parking lot <br />and the Newman Center; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works has received a request <br />from the Friends of the Studebaker Corridor to occupy the Newman <br />Center and Studebaker Museum parking lot on October 6, 1989 and <br />October 7, 1989 for the purpose of conducting a petition drive; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the use and occupancy of said premises by the <br />Friends of the Studebaker Corridor for said purposes works no <br />inconvenience to the public and does not otherwise interfere with <br />the normal activities of the Studebaker Museum and Newman Center. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />
