REGULAR MEETING <br />AUGUST 21, 1989 <br />251 <br />to acquire the City -owned <br />the appropriate Resolution <br />submitted to the Board at <br />property at 622 South Columbia Street, <br />has been prepared and is being <br />this time for adoption. <br />It was further noted that the Department of Economic Development <br />owns the property at 624 South Columbia and is presently working <br />with a client regarding a house move to that location. The <br />Department of Economic Development would like to own both lots <br />for this purpose. As all the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus have reviewed this request and approval is recommended, <br />Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the Resolution be adopted. Ms. <br />Humphreys seconded the motion which carried, and the following <br />Resolution No. 33-1989 was adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 33-1989 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br />AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF REAL PROPERTY <br />LOCATED AT 622 SOUTH COLUMBIA <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works for the City of South Bend <br />(the "Board") is authorized to sell, exchange or transfer <br />property of the City; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to I.C. 36-1-11-8, the City of South Bend, <br />as a governmental entity, has the authority to execute a transfer <br />of real property to another governmental entity upon terms and <br />conditions agreed upon by each entity, and the adoption of <br />substantially identical resolutions by each entity; and <br />WHEREAS, a request has been made of the Board to transfer to <br />the South Bend Redevelopment Commission the City -owned property <br />located at 622 South Columbia, South Bend, St. Joseph County, <br />Indiana; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of various City departments <br />that such transfer be made; and <br />WHEREAS, a Resolution of the South Bend Redevelopment <br />Commission containing provisions substantially similar in nature <br />and effect as those contained herein, and acknowledging and <br />accepting title to the City -owned property in question will be <br />adopted by the South Bend Redevelopment Commission. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. That title to the City -owned property at 622 South <br />Columbia, South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana, shall be <br />transferred to the South Bend Redevelopment Commission. <br />2. That subsequent to the adoption of this Resolution and <br />adoption by the South Bend Redevelopment Commission of a <br />substantially similar Resolution, a quit -claim deed passing title <br />to the property at 622 South Columbia, from the City to the South <br />Bend Redevelopment Commission, shall be executed and recorded in <br />the office of the South Bend, St. Joseph County Recorder. <br />3.
