206 <br />REGULAR MEETING JULY 17. 1989 <br />ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 27-1989 —APPROVING THE TRADE-IN OR EXCHANGE <br />OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AS PART OF PURCHASE PRICE OF PROPERTY OF <br />SIMILAR NATURE (POLICE DEPARTMENT) <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that Police Chief Ronald G. Marciniak has <br />advised that the Police Department would like to purchase a used <br />vehicle for use in the Special Operations Section, the cost of <br />said vehicle being $6,500.00. Additionally, the Department would <br />like to trade-in a vehicle for a credit of $3,500.00 with the <br />balance of $3,000.00 to be paid from the Seizure Monies of the <br />Special Operations Forfiture Account. <br />Therefore, the appropriate Resolution has been prepared and has <br />been submitted to the Board today for approval. Mrs. DeClercq <br />made a motion that the Resolution be adopted. Mr. Leszczynski <br />seconded the motion and Resolution No. 27-1989 as follows was <br />adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 27-1989 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />APPROVING THE TRADE-IN OR EXCHANGE OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY <br />AS PART OF PURCHASE PRICE OF PROPERTY OF SIMILAR NATURE <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public Works <br />of the City of South Bend that the following described property <br />is unfit for the purpose for which it was intended and should be <br />traded in or exchanged for property of a similar nature: <br />1984 Ford Bronco II, 4x4 <br />S#1FMBU14S8EUB1276 (Old Mechanical #734) <br />and; <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public Works <br />of the City of South Bend that the following described property <br />is of a similar nature to the above -described property, and <br />should be purchased, with the above -described property being <br />traded in so as to reduce the purchase price, in part or in full: <br />1984 Pontiac Grand Prix, 2-Door H.T. <br />S42GAK37HXE22003709 <br />and; <br />WHEREAS, I.C. 36-1-11-9 authorizes the Board of Public Works <br />to trade in or exchange City -owned property for partial or full <br />reduction in the purchase price of property of a similar nature. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The following described property shall be traded in or <br />exchanged as a reduction on the purchase price of the following <br />described property of a similar nature: <br />1984 Ford Bronco II, 4x4 <br />S#1FMBU14S8EUB1276 (Old Mechanical #734) <br />1984 Pontiac Grand Prix, 2-Door H.T. <br />S#2GAK37HXE22003709 <br />2. That the latter described property, in No. 1 immediately <br />above, shall be purchased from Magrames Auto Emporium, 2001 <br />Lincolnway West, Mishawaka, Indiana, for a total purchase price <br />of three thousand dollars ($3,000.00), the same reflecting a <br />reduction for the trade-in or exchange of the former described <br />property, in No. 1 immediately above. <br />3.
