REGULAR MEETING JUNE 26, 1989 <br />acting as agent for The Holladay Corporation and is requesting <br />permission to erect one (1) double faced eight foot (81) by four <br />foot (41) temporary painted leasing sign per a sketch which was <br />submitted with the request. Mr. Thompson stated that the sign <br />would project four feet (41) over the City right-of-way at <br />approximately ten feet (101) from grade to base. No structural <br />supports would be placed in the public right-of-way and the sign <br />will not cause sight obstruction or be in proximity to vehicular <br />traffic. Mr. Thompson stated that the sign would be erected on <br />The Bath Building at 220 West Colfax Avenue. Mr. Leszczynski <br />made a motion that the request be referred to the appropriate <br />City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. Mrs. <br />DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. <br />REQUEST TO CLOSE BLACKFORD WEST, FROM 5032 BLACKFORD WEST TO 5002 <br />BLACKFORD WEST FOR BLOCK PARTY - JULY 8, 1989 - REFERRED <br />Ms. Joy Druhan, 5015 Blackford West, South Bend, Indiana, on <br />behalf of the residents of Blackford West, submitted an <br />Application For Use Of And Blocking Of Access to Public <br />Right -Of -Way For A Party Or Similar Event requesting permission <br />to close Blackford West, from 5032 Blackford West to 5002 <br />Blackford West, on Saturday, July 8, 1989, from 3:00 p.m. to <br />11:00 p.m. for a neighborhood block party. Upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the <br />request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and <br />the Police Department Traffic Division for review and <br />recommendation. <br />REQUEST OF VALLEY DEVELOPMENT COMPANY TO ENCROACH INTO PUBLIC <br />RIGHT-OF-WAY AT 115 SOUTH LAFAYETTE BOULEVARD - REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. John Freidline, Valley Development <br />Company, 918 East Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana, <br />advised that the first step into the building located at 115 <br />South Lafayette Boulevard protrudes onto the public <br />right-of-way. As this has recently come to his attention, Mr. <br />Freidline, at this time, is requesting permission to allow the <br />step to stay in place as it is his understanding that the step <br />has been in place since construction of the building in 1913 <br />without incident. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the request <br />be referred to the appropriate City departments and bureau for <br />review and recommendation. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion <br />which carried. <br />REQUEST OF MARANATHA TEMPLE TO CONDUCT MARCH - SEPTEMBER 9, 1989 <br />- REFERRED <br />Ms. Shirley J. Reamer, Maranatha Temple, 760 South Michigan <br />Street, South Bend, Indiana and Mr. Willie Coates, New Wings of <br />Faith, March Sponsors, requested permission to conduct a March on <br />Saturday, September 9, 1989 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. <br />Submitted with the request was a route which they would like to <br />utilize for the march which begins at the Maranatha Temple and <br />concludes at the Century Center. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion <br />that the request be referred to the appropriate City departments <br />and bureaus for review and recommendation.
