REGULAR MEETING JUNE 26, 1989 acting as agent for The Holladay Corporation and is requesting permission to erect one (1) double faced eight foot (81) by four foot (41) temporary painted leasing sign per a sketch which was submitted with the request. Mr. Thompson stated that the sign would project four feet (41) over the City right-of-way at approximately ten feet (101) from grade to base. No structural supports would be placed in the public right-of-way and the sign will not cause sight obstruction or be in proximity to vehicular traffic. Mr. Thompson stated that the sign would be erected on The Bath Building at 220 West Colfax Avenue. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the request be referred to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. REQUEST TO CLOSE BLACKFORD WEST, FROM 5032 BLACKFORD WEST TO 5002 BLACKFORD WEST FOR BLOCK PARTY - JULY 8, 1989 - REFERRED Ms. Joy Druhan, 5015 Blackford West, South Bend, Indiana, on behalf of the residents of Blackford West, submitted an Application For Use Of And Blocking Of Access to Public Right -Of -Way For A Party Or Similar Event requesting permission to close Blackford West, from 5032 Blackford West to 5002 Blackford West, on Saturday, July 8, 1989, from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. for a neighborhood block party. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for review and recommendation. REQUEST OF VALLEY DEVELOPMENT COMPANY TO ENCROACH INTO PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY AT 115 SOUTH LAFAYETTE BOULEVARD - REFERRED In a letter to the Board, Mr. John Freidline, Valley Development Company, 918 East Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana, advised that the first step into the building located at 115 South Lafayette Boulevard protrudes onto the public right-of-way. As this has recently come to his attention, Mr. Freidline, at this time, is requesting permission to allow the step to stay in place as it is his understanding that the step has been in place since construction of the building in 1913 without incident. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the request be referred to the appropriate City departments and bureau for review and recommendation. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. REQUEST OF MARANATHA TEMPLE TO CONDUCT MARCH - SEPTEMBER 9, 1989 - REFERRED Ms. Shirley J. Reamer, Maranatha Temple, 760 South Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana and Mr. Willie Coates, New Wings of Faith, March Sponsors, requested permission to conduct a March on Saturday, September 9, 1989 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. Submitted with the request was a route which they would like to utilize for the march which begins at the Maranatha Temple and concludes at the Century Center. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the request be referred to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. WHEELS AND BRAKES DIVISION TO CLOSE WESTMOOR FROM BENDIX TO SHERIDAN, FOR DIVISION OPEN HOUSE - JULY 16, 1989 - REFERRED Mr. Thomas F. Brown, Facility Security Officer, Bendix Wheels & Brakes Division, 3520 Westmoor, South Bend, Indiana, submitted to the Board an Application For Use Of And Blocking Of Access To Public Right -Of -Way For A Party Or Similar Event, requesting that Westmoor be closed from Bendix Drive to Sheridan on Sunday, July 16, 1989 from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. for a Division Open House.
