Parmerlee <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - ONE (1) <br />INDUSTRIAL LOADER/BACKHOE <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Robert Kruszynski, Manager, <br />Department of Sanitation, requested permission to advertise for <br />the receipt of bids for one (1) Industrial Loader/Backhoe with <br />500 foot pound hydraulic breaker, permanently mounted on the <br />machine. Mr. Kruszynski further advised that this item was <br />approved in the Department of Sanitation's 1989 budget and the <br />bid will reflect a trade-in of (1) 1976 Case 680E backhoe. He <br />further noted that this piece of equipment will be used primarily <br />by the Bureau of Sewer's Construction Department. Mr. <br />Leszczynski made a motion that the request be approved. Ms. <br />Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - NINETEEN <br />(19) LEVEL AND VELOCITY SENSING METERS AND SIX (6) LEVEL ONLY <br />SENSING METERS <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. John J. Dillon, Environmental <br />Services, requested that the Board advertise for the receipt of <br />bids for the above referred to meters. Mr. Leszczynski noted <br />that these meters will be utilized by the Bureau of Wastewater to <br />provide accurate data and to measure flows in various segments of <br />the sewer system in conjunction with the CSO study now taking <br />place. <br />Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the request be approved. Ms. <br />Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. <br />REQUEST OF VIETNAM VETERANS OF AMERICA TO CONDUCT MARCH - JULY <br />29, 1989 - REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Brenda Frye, Secretary, Vietnam <br />Veterans of America, Chapter #442, Niles, Michigan, advised that <br />the group is planning a P.O.W., M.I.A. Hostage Freedom March for <br />Saturday, July 29, 1989. The route will begin at the state line <br />on Business US31, US33 at approximately 7:30 a.m. Ms. Frye <br />stated that the participants will be walking on the sidewalk down <br />Business 31/33 to Navarre Street, west on Navarre to Main Street, <br />south on Main to Western Avenue, west on Western Avenue to Taylor <br />Street, south on Taylor to Coveleski Stadium and arriving at the <br />stadium at about 10:30 a.m. Ms. Frye stated that they would like <br />special permission to use one (1) lane of traffic starting at the <br />intersection of Navarre and Main Streets. Ms. Frye also stated <br />that approximately two hundred (200) to three hundred (300) <br />people are expected to participate. Mr. Leszczynski made a <br />motion that the request be referred to the appropriate City <br />departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. Mrs. <br />DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. <br />REQUEST OF FOREST SIGN & DISPLAY, INC TO ERECT SIGN THAT WILL <br />ENCROACH INTO PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY - REFERRED <br />Mr. Jeffrey K.
