REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 26, 1989 <br />referred to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for <br />review and recommendation. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion <br />which carried. <br />APPROVE CONTRACTORS BONDS <br />Mr. Michael P. Meeks, Director, Division of Engineering, <br />recommended that the following Contractors Bonds be approved: <br />1. Eugene E. Williams, Jr., Effective 6/21/89 <br />2. Hal A. Finch Effective 6/22/89 <br />3. Carney Excavating Effective 6/21/89 <br />Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the recommendation be accepted <br />and the bonds be approved. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion <br />which carried. <br />APPROVE LICENSE_ APPLICATION - RUBBISH AND GARBAGE REMOVAL <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following one (1) Rubbish and <br />Garbage Removal license application has been received and <br />recommended for approval by Mrs. DeClercq, Director, Department <br />of Code Enforcement, with the stipulation that the truck not be <br />parked in any residential area full or partially filled with <br />trash: <br />1. Alex Rowell <br />1248 South Bend Avenue <br />South Bend, Indiana: <br />It was noted that an inspection of the truck to be used had been <br />conducted by the Solid Waste Bureau and the applicant was found <br />to be in compliance. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the above license <br />application was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's <br />office for issuance of a license. <br />DENY LICENSE APPLICATI.ON - RUBBISH AND GARBAGE REMOVAL <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of a Rubbish <br />and Garbage Removal License application as submitted by Mr. James <br />Scott, 2629 Newcome Street, South Bend, Indiana. Mr. Leszczynski <br />further advised that Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq, Director, <br />Department of Code Enforcement, has advised that she has reviewed <br />the license application and recommends at this time that the <br />license be denied. It was noted that the applicant intends to <br />operate the rubbish and garbage removal operation from his <br />residence which is in violation of ordinance requirements. <br />Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the recommendation <br />be accepted and the application be denied. Mrs. DeClercq <br />seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CLOSE LISTON STREET, FROM WALNUT TO <br />STUDEBAKER, FOR REUNION - AUGUST 19, 1989 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus have reviewed the request which was submitted to the <br />Board on June 5, 1989 to close Liston Street, from Walnut to <br />Studebaker, on August 19-20, 1989 for a reunion. Based on that <br />review, it is being recommended that the request be approved for <br />one day only on August 19, 1989. It was noted that several <br />members of the Austin family live on Liston Street which is <br />requested to be closed. Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion <br />that the recommendation be accepted and the request be approved <br />for August 19, 1989. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />
