M <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 26, 1989 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 25-1989 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />FOR THE TRANSFER OF TWO POLICE DEPARTMENT VEHICLES <br />FROM THE SOUTH BEND POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />TO THE ST. JOSEPH COUNTY CIVIL DEFENSE UNIT <br />AND <br />REQUESTING THE RETURN OF TWO SOUTH BEND POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />VEHICLES FROM THE ST. JOSEPH COUNTY CIVIL DEFENSE UNIT <br />TO THE SOUTH BEND POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />WHEREAS, the City of South Bend Police Department owns the <br />following two Police Department vehicles: <br />(A) one (1) 1985 Dodge Diplomat, Vin <br />1B3BG2645FX626915 (old 711); and <br />(B) one (1) 1985 Dodge Diplomat, Vin <br />1B3BG2643FX62895 (old 712), <br />which are no longer necessary for use by the South Bend Police <br />Department; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of South Bend, in a <br />spirit of interlocal governmental cooperation, to transfer said <br />vehicles to the St. Joseph County Civil Defense Unit for its use <br />until such time as the return of said vehicles is requested by <br />the City of South Bend; and <br />WHEREAS, the following two South Bend Police Department <br />vehicles, previously transferred to the St. Joseph County Civil <br />Defense Unit: <br />(A) one (1) 1983 Chevrolet Malibu, Vin <br />1G1AW6990DR201012; and <br />(B) one (1) 1985 Dodge Diplomat, Vin <br />1B3BG2642FX626919, <br />are obsolete and unfit for use by the St. Joseph County Civil <br />Defense Unit, and should be returned to the South Bend Police <br />Department in exchange for the vehicles hereinabove described, <br />and so as to allow the South Bend Police Department to dispose of <br />them at its vehicle auction. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works <br />of the City of South Bend as follows: <br />(1) That the City transfers to the St. Joseph County Civil <br />Defense Unit the following described vehicles for use by the St. <br />Joseph County Civil Defense Unit until such time as the return of <br />said vehicles is requested by the City of South Bend: <br />(A) one (1) 1985 Dodge Diplomat, Vin <br />1B3BG2645FX626915 (old 711); and <br />(B) one (1) 1985 Dodge Diplomat, Vin <br />1B3BG2643FX62895 (old 712); and <br />(2) That the City of South Bend hereby requests the return <br />of the following described South Bend Police Department vehicles <br />from the St. Joseph County Civil Defense Unit: <br />(A) one (1) 1983 Chevrolet Malibu, Vin <br />1G1AW6990DR201012; and <br />1 <br />11 <br />
