170 REGULAR MEETING JUNE 12, 1989 Ms. Dobski advised that they will do their best to only barricade as many days as absolutely necessary to include but not exceed: - Michigan Street Tuesday, June 27th - Monday, July 3rd - All east/west streets - Saturday, July 1st and Sunday, July 2nd. Additionally, Ms. Dobski requested that both Municipal Parking Facilities be open to the public at a rate of $1.00 per day on July 1st and 2nd. Ms. Dobski additionally advised that the Muscular Dystrophy Association has requested use of Washington Street, between Michigan and Main, to hold their annual bed race. Also, permission is requested to conduct the bike race utilizing the same route as in the past from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on July 1, 1989. Permission is also requested to conduct a 4-Mile Race and 1.1 Mile Fun Run beginning at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 2, 1989 utilizing the route submitted with the request. The Ethnic Festival Parade will be on July 1, 1989 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon with set-up in school field. The parade will proceed down Eddy Street to East Jefferson, East Jefferson west to Columbia and disbanding at block six. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the request for $1.00 parking rate at both parking garages in conjunction with the Ethnic Festival was approved and all other requests as outlined above were referred to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. APPROVE ETHNIC FESTIVAL BOOTH APPLICATIONS In a Memorandum to the Board, Ms. Katherine Humphreys, Director, Administration and Finance, advised that she has reviewed additional booth applications for the Ethnic Festival and recommends that they be approved. Therefore, the total applications submitted to date for which approval is requested are: Food 52 Craft 44 Display 15 Children's Activities 6 TOTAL: 117 Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the additional applications be approved. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion and it carried. AWARD BID - ONE (1) 31000## GVW CAB & CHASSIS Mr. Robert Kruszynski, Manager, Department of Sanitation, advised that after reviewing the bids received on May 30, 1989, for the above referred to equipment, he is recommending that the low base bid of Shamrock Ford Truck Sales, Inc., 4707 West Western Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $31.362.00 plus an additional $505.00 for a tilt hood on the cab for a total bid of $31,867.00 be awarded. Mr. Kruszynski advised that this unit will be used by the Bureau of Sewers construction and maintenance crews. Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid awarded. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. 1
