<br />REQUEST OF ST. STEPHEN'S PARISH TO CLOSE MC PHERSON STREET IN
<br />CONJUNCTION WITH CHURCH FESTIVAL - JULY 2:3, 1989 - REFERRED
<br />Rev. Richard A. Laurick, CSC, Pastor, St. Steven's Parish, 1102
<br />W. Thomas Street, South Bend, Indiana, advised that the Parish
<br />will be conducting its Parish Summer Festival on Sunday, Julv 23,
<br />1989. In conjunction with said Festival, Rev. Laurick requested
<br />that McPherson Street from Thomas to Napier be closed from
<br />Saturday, July 22, 1989 at 9:00 a.m. through Sunday, July 23,
<br />1989. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms.
<br />Humphreys and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of
<br />Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division
<br />for review and recommendation.

<br />OPEN HOUSE - MAY 24, 1989 - REFERRED
<br />In a letter to the Board Ms. Trish Yancy, Office Manager,
<br />Indiana -Michigan Valves, Inc., 3502 W. McGill Street, South Bend,
<br />Indiana, requested permission to allow parking on Kenmore Street
<br />from Cleveland Street to the Eckridge Company at 3120 North
<br />Kenmore in conjunction with their Grand Opening Open House on
<br />Wednesday, May 24, 1989 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. They expect
<br />around 350 people to attend and feel they may need additional
<br />parking space. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by
<br />Ms. Humphreys and carried, the above request was referred to the
<br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic
<br />Division for review and recommendation.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST OF MATTHYS LITTLE LEAGUE TO CLOSE MEADOW LANE,
<br />BETWEEN LOMBARDY AND EVERGREEN IN CONJUNCTION WITH OPENING DAY
<br />ACTIVITIES - MAY 13, 1989
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Rich Allen, Maurice Matthys Little
<br />League, requested permission to close Meadow Lane, between
<br />Lombardy and Evergreen on May 13, 1989 from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00
<br />a.m. in conjunction with opening day activities. He stated that
<br />in the past traffic congestion in front of the ball park has
<br />become nearly unmanageable. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq,
<br />seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the above request was
<br />approved subject to favorable recommendations from the Bureau of
<br />Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division.
<br />APPROVE APPLICATIONS FOR BIDDER QUALIFICATION
<br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the Board has been advised that after
<br />a complete review the following companies have met the require-
<br />ments of the South Bend Affirmative Action ordinance and are
<br />recommended for approval as qualified City bidders:

<br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by
<br />Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the recommendation was accepted and
<br />the above named companies approved as qualified City bidders.
