130 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 8, 1989 <br />water and sanitary sewer improvements, and storm sewer <br />improvements. The Letter of Credit issued by the Michigan <br />National Bank, 1903 S. Eleventh Street, Niles, Michigan, is in <br />the amount of $110,801.75. The Letter of Credit further states <br />that this agreement will remain in effect until Lang -Feeney and <br />Associates certifies to the Board and Michigan National Bank that <br />the required improvements are complete. Therefore, upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, <br />the Letter of Credit for Sable Ridge Section 3 was accepted and <br />approved. <br />APPROVE AMENDED IRREVOCABLE LETTER OF CREDIT - CROSS CREEK INC. <br />Mr. Michael P. Meeks, Director, Division of Engineering, <br />submitted to the Board and asked that the Board accept the <br />Amended Irrevocable Letter of Credit No. S-8659 from Trustcorp <br />Bank for the account of Cross Creek, Inc. 828 E. Jefferson <br />Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana. This Agreement extends the <br />Letter of Credit date to October 26, 1989. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the Amended Irrevocable Letter of Credit was <br />approved as submitted. <br />REQUEST OF <br />COUNCIL TO <br />ST. JOSEPH CO <br />CT INTERSECTION S <br />ITATIONS - <br />ILD SAFETY <br />MAY 20, 1989 - <br />REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Jeff Jennings, Safety Coordinator, <br />St. Joseph County Chapter, NCSC, advised that the National Child <br />Safety council is planning an event called "Junction Fundtion" <br />(Intersection Collections) on Saturday, May 20, 1989 from 10:00 <br />a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and requests the following intersections for <br />their use: <br />1. Michigan and Angela (City of South Bend) <br />2. Jefferson and Ironwood (City of South Bend) <br />3. Jefferson and Logan (City of South Bend and City <br />of Mishawaka) <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the above request was referred to the appropriate <br />City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVER <br />31000# GVW CAB & CHASSIS <br />'ISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - ONE (1 <br />In a letter to the Board Mr. Robert Kruszynski, Manager, <br />Department of Sanitation, requested permission to advertise for <br />the receipt of bids for one (1) 31000# GVW Cab & Chassis. This <br />is an additional piece of equipment to be used primarily by the <br />Bureau of Sewer's Construction Department. Upon a motion made by <br />Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the request <br />to advertise was approved. <br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AT 719 WEST JEFFERSON - <br />REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Kirt L. Edly, 120 Garfield Court, <br />South Bend, Indiana, indicated that he was interested in <br />purchasing the City -owned property at 719 W. Jefferson, South <br />Bend, Indiana. Mr. Edly advised that it is not his intention to <br />build on this lot. He would like to landscape and maintain it as <br />green space. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by <br />Ms. Humphreys and carried, the above request was referred to the <br />necessary City departments and bureaus for a determination as to <br />whether or not the City need retain the lot for any reason. <br />1 <br />
