<br />REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 27. 1989
<br />REQUEST TO CLOSE RIVERSIDE DRIVE, BETWEEN CALIFORNIA AND GOLDEN, IN
<br />CONJUNCTION WITH EASTER EGG HUNT - MARCH 25, 1989 - REFERRED
<br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Marty Kenahan, 1061 Riverside Drive,
<br />South Bend, Indiana, requested that Riverside Drive, between
<br />California and Golden, be closed from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon on
<br />Saturday, March 25, 1989 in conjunction with the Third Annual
<br />Riverside Drive Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt that will take place in
<br />Shetterley Park. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by
<br />Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the request was referred to the appropriate
<br />City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation.
<br />REQUEST TO CONDUCT HORSE AND CARRIAGE RIDES IN DOWNTOWN SOUTH BEND -
<br />REFERRED
<br />In a letter to the Board, Clinton and Patricia Yeager, 15799 CR#8,
<br />Bristol, Indiana, requested permission to run carriage rides in
<br />downtown South Bend. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded
<br />by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the request was referred to the
<br />appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and
<br />recommendation.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST OF MAURICE MATTHYS LITTLE LEAGUE TO CONDUCT PARADE -
<br />MAY 13, 1989
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and
<br />bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request submitted to the
<br />Board on February 20, 1989 and recommend approval. Therefore, upon a
<br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried,
<br />the recommendation was accepted and the request approved.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST OF CHET WAGGONER LITTLE LEAGUE TO CONDUCT ANNUAL
<br />OPENING DAY PARADE - MAY 6, 1989
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and
<br />bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request submitted to the
<br />Board on February 6, 1989 and recommend approval. Therefore, upon a
<br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried,
<br />the recommendation was accepted and the request approved.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CLOSE ST. JOSEPH STREET, BETWEEN BARTLETT AND
<br />NAVARRE, FOR NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY - MARCH 17. 1989
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and
<br />the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed the above
<br />referred to request submitted to the Board on February 6, 1989 and
<br />recommend approval. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski,
<br />seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the recommendation was accepted
<br />and the request approved.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST OF CITY AWNING OF SOUTH BEND TO ERECT FABRIC AWNINGS
<br />ON THE FIRST FLOOR OF THE LAFAYETTE BUILDING - 115 S. LAFAYETTE
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and
<br />bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request submitted to the
<br />Board on February 20, 1989 and recommend approval. Therefore, upon a
<br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried,
<br />the recommendation was accepted and the request approved.
<br />FILING OF APPLICATION FOR BIDDER QUALIFICATION
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and
<br />carried, the application submitted by Kent Meters, Inc., P.O. Box
<br />1852, Ocala, Florida was accepted for filing and referred to the
<br />Affirmative Action Review Committee for review and recommendation.
<br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATIONS - RUBBISH AND GARBAGE
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following five (5) Rubbish and
<br />Garbage license applications have been received:
