Eddie Ivory 1302 West Linden Avenue South Bend, Indiana It was noted that inspections of the trucks to be used had been conducted by the Solid Waste Bureau and all applicants were found to be in compliance. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the above license applications were approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's office for issuance of licenses. DENY SECONDHAND DEALERS LICENSE APPLICATION - APARTMENT LIQUIDITATORS Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate departments and bureaus have reviewed the license application submitted by Mr. Frank Shula to operate Apartment Liquiditators at 1722 Western Avenue and it is recommended at this time that the license be denied. In a Memorandum to the Board Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq, Director, Department of Code Enforcement, advised that the proposed use of the property is not in conformity with the City's zoning ordinance and in addition, there is insufficient parking. The owner was contacted regarding these problems and has not responded. Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the license application be denied. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion and it carried. APPROVE EXCAVATION BOND Mr. Melvin Humphrey, Engineering Department, recommended that the Excavation Bond for Mr. Ross A. Catanzarite, Jr., d/b/a South Bend Plumbing, Inc., be approved effective February 27, 1989. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the Excavation Bond was approved. FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a total of fifty (50) properties cleaned from February 8, 1989 to February 17, 1989, was submitted. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the report as submitted was filed. APPROVE CLAIMS Chief Deputy City Controller John D. Leisenring, submitted Claim Docket Nos. 4698 through 4960 and Nos. 4970 through 5338 and the Bureau of Wastewater submitted Voucher No. 149-187 and recommended approval. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the claims were approved and the reports as submitted were filed. 7-j 1
