Eddie Ivory <br />1302 West Linden Avenue <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />It was noted that inspections of the trucks to be used had been <br />conducted by the Solid Waste Bureau and all applicants were found to <br />be in compliance. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by <br />Ms. Humphreys and carried, the above license applications were <br />approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's office for issuance <br />of licenses. <br />DENY SECONDHAND DEALERS LICENSE APPLICATION - APARTMENT LIQUIDITATORS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate departments and bureaus <br />have reviewed the license application submitted by Mr. Frank Shula to <br />operate Apartment Liquiditators at 1722 Western Avenue and it is <br />recommended at this time that the license be denied. <br />In a Memorandum to the Board Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq, Director, <br />Department of Code Enforcement, advised that the proposed use of the <br />property is not in conformity with the City's zoning ordinance and in <br />addition, there is insufficient parking. The owner was contacted <br />regarding these problems and has not responded. <br />Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the recommendation be <br />accepted and the license application be denied. Ms. Humphreys <br />seconded the motion and it carried. <br />APPROVE EXCAVATION BOND <br />Mr. Melvin Humphrey, Engineering Department, recommended that the <br />Excavation Bond for Mr. Ross A. Catanzarite, Jr., d/b/a South Bend <br />Plumbing, Inc., be approved effective February 27, 1989. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, <br />the Excavation Bond was approved. <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT <br />A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a total of <br />fifty (50) properties cleaned from February 8, 1989 to February 17, <br />1989, was submitted. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by <br />Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the report as submitted was filed. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Chief Deputy City Controller John D. Leisenring, submitted Claim <br />Docket Nos. 4698 through 4960 and Nos. 4970 through 5338 and the <br />Bureau of Wastewater submitted Voucher No. 149-187 and recommended <br />approval. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by <br />Ms. Humphreys and carried, the claims were approved and the reports as <br />submitted were filed. <br />7-j <br />1 <br />
