2 <br />REGULAR MEETING` <br />JANUARY 3, 1989 <br />STORAGE: $1,000.00 Per month for storage of not less <br />than 500 vehicles <br />SALVAGE: $ 10.00 Per vehicle received from the <br />Department of Code Enforcement and/or <br />its agents <br />TOWING: A. Regular tow $40.00 per vehicle <br />B. Tow without wheels $45.00 per vehicle <br />C. $5.00 per visit of tow truck to an address <br />and unable to tow because vehicle has been <br />moved. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the Proposals as indicated above were referred to <br />the Department of Code Enforcement for review and recommendation <br />and the Applications for Bidder Qualification as submitted with <br />the Proposals were accepted for filing and referred to the <br />Affirmative Action Review Committee for review and <br />recommendation. <br />ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 1-1989 - DISPOSAL OF OBSOLETE <br />EQUIPMENT (POLICE DEPARTMENT) <br />In a letter to the Board, Police Chief Ronald Marciniak and <br />Services Division Chief Joel Wolvos, advised that the Police <br />Department has some resuscitation training devices which are <br />functionally and/or mechanically obsolete which they would like <br />to declare obsolete and have removed from the City inventory. <br />Also, they requested permission to donate these devices to the <br />St. Joseph County, Indiana Chapter of The American Red Cross so <br />that spare parts can be utilized by the Red Cross for their <br />existing training devices. <br />Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that Resolution No. 1-1989 <br />be adopted and that the equipment listed in the Resolution be <br />donated to The American Red Cross. Ms. Humphreys seconded the <br />motion, it carried, and the following Resolution No. 1-1989 was <br />adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1-1989 <br />WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-1-11-6 permits and establishes <br />procedure for disposal of personal property which is unfit for <br />the purpose for which it was intended and which is no longer <br />needed by the City. <br />WHEREAS, the following Police Department equipment is unfit <br />and no longer needed by the City of South Bend: <br />C.P.R. - MANI <br />#1844 <br />C.P.R. - MANI <br />#1277 <br />RESUSCI-ANNE <br />#834 <br />RESUSCI-ANNE <br />(NO P.D. #) <br />MONITOR DEVICE <br />#1276 <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works <br />of the City of South Bend, that each item of the equipment listed <br />above is no longer needed by the City and is unfit for the <br />purpose for which it was intended and has an estimated value of <br />less than $500.00 and that all of the equipment listed above has <br />a total estimated value of less than $1,000.00. <br />17 <br />1 <br />
