I <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JANUARY 3, i 9 �9 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:34 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 1989, by President John E. <br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq <br />and Ms. Katherine Humphreys present. Also present was Assistant <br />City Attorney Marva J. Leonard -Dent. <br />ELECTION OF BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS PRESIDENT FOR 1989 <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, Mr. John E. Leszczynski was elected as President of <br />the Board of Public Works for 1989. <br />AGENDA ITEM ADDED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, an Agreement for Services of Hearing Officer for the <br />Human Rights Commission was added to the agenda. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the minutes of the December 19, 1988, regular <br />meeting of the Board were approved. <br />OPENING OF PROPOSALS - TOWING AND STORAGE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />FOR THE YEAR 1989 AND FILING OF APPLICATIONS FOR BIDDER <br />QUALIFICATION <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that this was the date set for the <br />receiving and opening of sealed Proposals for the above referred <br />to services. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice <br />in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were <br />found to be sufficient. The following Proposals were opened and <br />read: <br />SUPER AUTO SALVAGE CORPORATION <br />3300 South Main Street <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Proposal was submitted by Paul <br />follows: <br />Schultz, President, and is as <br />STORAGE: $500.00 Per month for storage of not less than <br />500 vehicles <br />SALVAGE: $ 32.79 Per vehicle received from the <br />Department of Code Enforcement and/or <br />its agents <br />VALLEY TOWING (FORMERLY J & B TOWING) <br />702 North College Street <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Proposal was submitted by Jeffrey Nicklas, Owner, and is as <br />follows: <br />TOWING: A. Regular tow $35.00 per vehicle <br />B. Tow without wheels $35.00 per vehicle <br />C. $5.00 per visit of tow truck to an address <br />and unable to tow because vehicle has been <br />moved. <br />STEVE & GENE'S AUTO <br />3109 South Gertrude Street <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Proposal was submitted by Gene Hancz, Partner -Owner, and is <br />as follows: <br />
