Parmerlee, Clerk <br />APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - EDWARDO'S PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS <br />PROJECT <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that in accordance with the bid awarded <br />on December 12, 1988 to L.L. Geans & Sons, Inc., 56535 Magnetic <br />Drive, Mishawaka, Indiana, in the amount of $65,800.00 for the <br />above referred to project, a Contract in said amount was being <br />submitted for Board approval. Upon a motion made by Mrs. <br />DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the Contract was <br />approved subject to the filing of the appropriate Insurance, <br />Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment Bond as <br />required. <br />APPROVE SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT NO. 1 - COLE ASSOCIATES INC. <br />(TWYCKENHAM IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Cole Associates, Inc., 2211 East <br />Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana, has submitted <br />Supplemental Agreement No. 1 in regards to the Twyckenham <br />Improvements Project. Supplemental Agreement No. 1, in the <br />amount of $86,200.00, indicates that it has been determined that <br />the drainage requirements for the project can best be met by <br />constructing a storm water sewer along Corby Boulevard from <br />Twyckenham Drive to the St. Joseph River. <br />Mr. Leszczynski further advised that the improvements to <br />Twyckenham Drive will be between McKinley (U.S. 20) and South <br />Bend Avenue (S.R. 23). It was noted that on August 5, 1985, the <br />Board of Public Works entered into a Contract with Cole <br />Associates, Inc., as it was determined that certain improvements <br />were needed for Twyckenham Drive. Supplemental Agreement No. 1 <br />submitted today increases the original contract fee of $98,500.00 <br />by $86,200.00 for a new total of $184,700.00. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, Supplemental Agreement No. 1 as submitted was <br />approved and executed. <br />APPROVE AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES OF HEARING OFFICER - HUMAN RIGHTS <br />COMMISSION (JOSEPH RUBIN) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that submitted to the Board today was a <br />renewal Agreement for Services of Hearing Officer for the Human <br />Rights Commission for the period beginning January 3, 1989 and <br />ending on the December 31, 1989. Mr. Leszczynski further advised <br />that the Agreement indicates that the Hearing Officer, Mr. Joseph <br />F. Rubin, Attorney At Law, 710 JMS Building, South Bend, Indiana, <br />shall be compensated by the City in the amount of four hundred <br />dollars ($400.00) per case coming to public hearing. Upon a <br />motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and <br />carried, the Agreement as submitted was approved and executed. <br />
