413 <br />REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 17, 1990 <br />REQUEST TO CONDUCT MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY ANNUAL MARCH - JANUARY <br />21, 1991 - REFERRED <br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Ms. Mikki Dobski, Director, Office <br />of Community Affairs, advised that on behalf of the M.L. King Day <br />Committee, she requests permission to hold the annual March on <br />Monday, January 21, 1991 from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. The agenda <br />will consist of a short program (5-10 minutes) in the lobby of <br />the County -City Building with the March following immediately. <br />The route will be the same as in previous years and is as <br />follows: leave the County -City Building, proceed down Jefferson <br />Boulevard from Lafayette east to Century Center. Mr. Leszczynski <br />made a motion that the request be referred to the appropriate <br />City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. Mrs. <br />DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. <br />REQUEST OF CITY AWNING TO INSTALL CANOPY AT 103 EAST WAYNE STREET <br />- CATERING BY BILLIES, INC. - REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Hank Craft, Sales Representative, <br />City Awning of South Bend, 1835 South Franklin, South Bend, <br />Indiana, requested permission to install a canopy at Catering By <br />Billies, Inc., 103 East Wayne Street, South Bend, Indiana. Mr. <br />Craft submitted with the request a drawing indicating canopy <br />dimensions and details. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the <br />request be referred to the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus for review and recommendation. Mrs. DeClercq seconded <br />the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE 1991 HOLIDAY SCHEDULE FOR CITY EMPLOYEES <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the 1991 Holiday Schedule for all <br />City employees with the exception of sworn police and fire <br />personnel has been submitted to the Board for approval. He noted <br />that the schedule consists of nine (9) designated holidays and <br />one (1) floating holiday. The designated holidays are as <br />follows: <br />New Year's Day <br />Good Friday <br />Memorial Day <br />Independence Day <br />Labor Day <br />Veteran's Day <br />Thanksgiving Day <br />Day After Thanksgiving <br />Christmas Day <br />Tuesday, January 1, 1991 <br />Friday, March 29, 1991 <br />Monday, May 27, 1991 <br />Thursday, July 4, 1991 <br />Monday, September 2, 1991 <br />Monday, November 11, 1991 <br />Thursday, November 28, 1991 <br />Friday, November 29, 1991 <br />Wednesday, December 25, 1991 <br />In addition to the nine (9) <br />designated holidays above, <br />employees <br />may choose one (1) additional holiday from <br />the holidays <br />listed <br />below: <br />Martin Luther King Day <br />Monday, <br />January 21, <br />1991 <br />President's Day <br />Monday, <br />February 18, <br />1991 <br />Columbus Day <br />Monday, <br />October 14, <br />1991 <br />Employee's Birthday <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Humphreys, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the holiday schedule as indicated above was <br />approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF CASTEEL CONSTRUCTION TO OCCUPY THE PUBLIC <br />RIGHT-OF-WAY IN CONJUNCTION WITH LIBRARY RENOVATION PROJECT <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request which was <br />submitted to the Board on November 19, 1990 and approval is <br />recommended at this time. Mr. Leszczynski therefore made a <br />motion that the request be approved. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the <br />motion which carried. <br />
