REGULAR MEETING DECFMBER 10, 1990 again this year planning to conduct a "March for Life" on the Sunday closest to the anniversary date of the Court decision legalizing abortion. This January the date will be January 20, 1991. Mr. Leinen stated that they would like to assemble in the parking lot of the Council #553 at 815 North Michigan Street at 1:30 P.M. The March would then proceed south on Michigan to Navarre Street then west on Navarre to Main Street then south on Main Street to Wayne Street then west on Wayne Street to St. Patrick's Church on Taylor Street. At St. Patrick's they will have an interfaith service recalling this sad event. Marchers will then make their way back to 815 North Michigan Street independently. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the request be referred to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. REQUEST FOR DESIGNATED HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE - 306 SOUTH ILLINOIS - REFERRED Mrs. Eddie Johnson, 306 South Illinois, South Bend, Indiana, requested that the parking space in front of her residence be designated as a handicapped parking space. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the request be referred to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. FILING OF PETITION FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF RESTRICTED RESIDENTIAL PARKING ZONE - 900 BLOCK SOUTH TWYCKENHAM Ms. Belinda Owens, 922 South Twyckenham Drive, South Bend, Indiana, submitted to the Board a Petition for the Establishment of a Restricted Residential Parking Zone in the 900 block of South Twyckenham Drive. Ms. Owens noted that residents of the area have difficulty parking in front of their houses due to spaces being occupied by members of the Electrical Apprenticeship and Training Committee who meet at 913 South Twyckenham from 5:45 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the Petition be referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting in order that the appropriate traffic study of the area can be conducted. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. FILING OF APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATE OF PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND SETTING OF PUBLIC HEARING DATE - MISHAWAKA CAB INC. Mr. Leszczynski advised that submitted to the Board was an Application for Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity for the Operation of Taxicabs as submitted by the Mishawaka Cab, Inc., 58861 State Road 331, Mishawaka, Indiana. Mr. Leszczynski further advised that pursuant to licensing ordinance requirements, the application as submitted today will be accepted for filing and a Public Hearing date of January 7, 1991 will be set. Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the application as submitted be filed and the hearing date set. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE AND/OR RELEASE CONTRACTQRS AND EXCAVATION BONDS Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Engineering Department has recommended that the Excavation Bond for Edward J. White, 1011 South Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana, be released effective December 3, 1991 and that the Bond of Contractor for Union Station Properties be approved effective December 10, 1990. Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bonds be approved and/or released as indicated above. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which carried.
