397 REGULAR MEETING 2. NEW INSTALLATION: LOCATION: REMARKS: DECEMBER 10, 1990 Handicap Parking Space 701 North Allen Request of Mr. Jeff Ray REJECT BIDS AND APPROVE REQUEST TO READVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - ONE (1) DUAL REAR WHEEL ONE TON CHASSIS (FOUR WHEEL DRIVE) Mr. Leszczynski advised that Fire Chief Luther Taylor has submitted to the Board a letter stating that after reviewing the bid received on November 19, 1990 from Jordan Automall, Inc., of Mishawaka, Indiana for one (1) dual rear wheel one ton four wheel drive one ton chassis, it is the recommendation of the Department that this bid be rejected due to Jordan failing to meet specifications on a request for dual rear wheels on the chassis. Chief Taylor noted that Jordan, being the only bidder on the chassis, informed the Fire Department that the dual rear wheels are not available with four wheel drive. Chief Taylor noted that it is important that they get the dual rear wheels to meet their needs and therefore they are eliminating the request for the four wheel drive. Therefore, the Department also requests that the Board readvertise for the receipt of bids for one (1) dual rear wheel one ton chassis. Chief Taylor noted that lease purchase agreement, funded by the E.M.S. Capital Improvement Fund, will be the method used for payment. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the recommendation of the Chief to reject the bid submitted by Jordan Automall, Inc., and the request to readvertise for the receipt of bids for one (1) dual rear wheel one ton chassis be approved. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE REQUEST OF NEAR NORTHWEST NEIGHBORHOOD, INC., TO CONDUCT CANDLELIGHT WALK, CARRIAGE RIDES AND CLOSING OF STREETS Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request which was submitted to the Board on November 26, 1990 and approval is recommended. It is noted that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting has advised that the following route for the horse and carriage rides has been approved: Vassar and Sherman, travel west on Vassar, south on Allen west on California, north on Blaine, east on Humbolt, south on Allen, west on Vassar to Sherman. It is also noted that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting advised that they will deliver barricades to Vassar and Portage and Sherman and Vassar. The Petitioner will be responsible for setting up the barricades and removing them at the conclusion of the festivities. Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the request be approved. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE REQUEST OF SANDRA DOREY TO SOLICIT DONATIONS/DONORS IN FRONT OF THE DOWNTOWN OSCO DRUG STORE Mr. Leszczynski advised that the above referred to request, which was submitted to the Board on December 3, 1990, has been reviewed by the appropriate City departments and bureaus and approval is recommended.
