395 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />DECEMBER 10, 1990 <br />UNDERGROUND PIPE & VALVE INC. <br />P.O. Box 508 <br />South Bend, Indiana 46624 <br />Bid was submitted by James P. Butler, President. <br />BID: Storage racks, shelving, walkways and steel <br />storage rack: $ 505.00 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the above bids were referred to the Division of <br />Equipment Services for review and recommendation. <br />Mr. John L. Duncan, National Inventory Reserve, Inc., P.O. Box <br />4584, 730 Prairie Avenue, South Bend, IN, addressed the Board and <br />advised that National Inventory Reserve is the high bidder and <br />inquired when they would be awarded the bid. Mr. Leszczynski <br />informed Mr. Duncan that the bids will be reviewed and a decision <br />made whether to award to the highest bidder or to reject all bids <br />received. Mr. Leszczynski noted that that decision would be made <br />the first of next week. <br />ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 34-1990 - DISPOSAL OF OBSOLETE EQUIPMENT - <br />ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of a letter <br />from Mr. Karl R. Kopec, Manager of Operations, Environmental <br />Services, requesting that the Board declare the lime storage and <br />feed equipment in the Chemical Control Building unfit for the <br />purpose for which it was intended. Mr. Kopec advised that this <br />equipment is part of an obsolete treatment process and is valued <br />at less than five hundred dollars ($500.00). Therefore, Mrs. <br />DeClercq made a motion that the Resolution that has been prepared <br />declaring this equipment obsolete be adopted. Ms. Humphreys <br />seconded the motion which carried, and the following Resolution <br />No. 34-1990 was adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 34-1990 <br />A RESOLUTION OF T <br />ON DISPOSAL OF <br />HE SOUTH BEN <br />T <br />OR OB <br />OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of <br />that the following property is unfit for the purpose <br />was intended and is no longer needed by the City of <br />LIME STORAGE AND FEED EQUIPMENT <br />IN THE <br />CHEMICAL CONTROL BUILDING <br />(ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES) <br />Ty <br />- <br />Public Works <br />for which it <br />South Bend: <br />WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-1-11-6(c) permits and establishes <br />procedure for disposal of personal property which is unfit for <br />the purpose for which it was intended and which is no longer <br />needed by the City. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Public Works <br />of the City of South Bend that the property listed above is no <br />longer needed by the City; is unfit for the purpose for which it <br />was intended; and has an estimated total value of less than Five <br />Hundred Dollars ($500.00). <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said property may be transferred <br />or sold at public or private sale, without advertising. However, <br />if the property is deemed worthless, such may be demolished or <br />junked. <br />
